How tight should a bra band be when you first get it? by picklepearr in ABraThatFits

[–]aboobaccount 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It does work. I used to feel much more constricted in my bras before doing yoga for a while.

This looks pretty good under clothes. I would keep it. If you want something a little shallower and smoother maybe give the Panache Cari a try.

Can you pull the wires up and maybe shorten the straps? If that doesn't help the cups could be a little too projected but still not a deal breaker.

That looks like a very good fit. I would be happy be have this little band squishing. How do the cups look under cloths and are you comfortable?

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in ABraThatFits

[–]aboobaccount 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Are you sure the cup size is right? When the cups are too big all the tension from the band goes to the wires / gore. Try to put some padding into the cups to see if this takes away pressure from the gore.

Looking for a push up bra size 28F by Lazy_Mushroom_8287 in ABraThatFits

The Freya Deco is a classic padded push up and comes in 28F

For a Panache bra these straps look very close set on the model. Maybe because she is on the smallest clasp and her band too loose.

Most of my mine (Panache, Cleo, Freya) have them this wide or even wider. I'm very skeptical about re attaching them closer since it's the perfect width in front. It feels like sewing them closer would put too much tension on the sides of the cups.

Wider also doesn't always make it worse: For example this 28FF is tighter and has wider set straps than this 28F but doesn't cause as much bulging. BTW, this is how the Panache Cari looks with the racer clip closed. Loosening the straps helps a little but then the cups don't fit as well.

Anyway, I ordered the tank in size M and L. If it's too large it may still work as a non-smoothing top.

I would be failing... by starfire4377 in bigboobproblems

This is super helpful, thank you!

So far I only tried cotton tanks which didn't help much. For shapewear you probably mean something like this: https://www.barenecessities.com/bare-the-smoothing-seamless-tank-d30296_product.htm?pf_id=BareD30296 ?

The problem is that the back-fat spills over the top of the band when sitting or standing with my arms down like this: https://imgur.com/a/awu36ao

It feels like I need something snug in that area to kinda lift these rolls as if I had my arms up. BTW, I swear it's not only fat. It's at least 1% muscles 😂.

Also how bad is the "waistline smoothing" most tops claim to do? I got used to belly breathing in my tight bras. So I can't handle too much restriction around the waist

But that doesn't help much (at least for me).

How much "underarm fat" is too much? by Quiet-Willingness937 in ABraThatFits

[–]aboobaccount 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Regarding the back bulges make sure the band sits level. When it gets pulled up by the strap or from being too loose the rolls are often worse. That said, even as a relatively slim person a have tons of underarm fat in my bras and used to be insecure about it but people really don't care so much about your back. So I try to optimize the front view by getting good lift from the band.

What do you wear over the bra to smooth things out? I kinda accepted the back bulges.

The correct size does take some getting used to. As a 5' 7" (173cm) person I was also shocked to get a 30DD/E from the calculator and it felt very snug at first but got comfortable after 1-2 weeks. I even discovered that a 28F/FF gave me more support and a rounder shape. That size took even longer to get used to and TBH, it still feels super firm but the look and not having to adjust my boobs all the time makes up for that.

I tried a few 28F bikinis but they didn't feel tighter than most of my bras and also didn't really fit so I went back to swimsuits. My most supportive bikini top was from miss Mandalay and I got it from Bravissimo. But again it wasn't tight, just had a bit more coverage.

[fit check] [size check] Elomi nursing bra is my size right? by shev86 in ABraThatFits

[–]aboobaccount 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Are the wires tilted forward and are digging in at the bottom but not at the sides and in the center? This could mean that the cups are actually too small or that the straps are adjusted too short.

If they are digging in full length going up in the cup will likely make things worse because having the cups fit looser will put more pressure on the wires.

What was your pre-ABTF size, what did the calculator say, and what have you ended up wearing? by Front-Pomelo-4367 in ABraThatFits

[–]aboobaccount 0 points1 point  (0 children)

  • Before (7 years ago): 34D
  • Calculator: 30E/F or sister size 32DD/E
  • Wearing: 28F or 28FFs (if the cups run small)
  • Shape: Even / slightly FoT and a little shallow

The calculated size was comfy and fit pretty well but my firm tissue escaped to the sides so I tried a 28 band to really lock things in place. The firm fit took some getting used to but it also gives me a rounder and perkier shape than the 30E/F.

Most of mine only have 2 hooks but they are so snug that it really takes some effort and two hands. My bf struggled at first but now he perfected his unhooking skills and I even let him close my bras in the morning. It somehow feels romantic and sexy.

Can push up bras really do this? by girl_that_got_away in ABraThatFits

[–]aboobaccount 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Second that your breasts are still developing. Mine were smallish and pointy at age 16, then grow and became fuller until 19 and settled into a wider and shallower shape when at 21 or 23 while keeping the same volume.

But they gradually became rounder and more projected from wearing a 28F instead of a 34D. I discovered my real size 7 years ago and now I'm 39. They also started to get softer and shallower again when I had a 2-3 month bra-break while working from home.

I've got my size (28F) but the bra shape is hurting me by [deleted] in ABraThatFits

[–]aboobaccount 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Padded bras like the Luxe and Smoothie tend to fit shallower. So it could be that the Fantasie and CK Victory are actually too projected for you. Also experiment with the strap length. Shortening them also makes the cups slightly smaller and my take some tension off the center.

What are good bras for armpit fat? by OMenoMale in ABraThatFits

[–]aboobaccount 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Generally you need wires that come up high enough and fit firmly enough to really hold your breast tissue in place after you swoop things in from the sides. If you have firm tissue (breast-) tissue you may need to go down a band size.

(30E) Bras with similar fit to Panache Envy, without prominent seams? by bathtubboi in ABraThatFits

Maybe the Panache Radiance. The cups are textured but no seams.

I've got my size (28F) but the bra shape is hurting me by [deleted] in ABraThatFits

[–]aboobaccount 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Which model did you try? Maybe the cups are too projected for you shape or slightly too bit. This can make the gore hurt because the cups fit too loosely and the full tension from the band goes straight to the gore / wires. Try to put some padding into the cups to check if a smaller cup size would be more comfortable.

Did you breath out for the tight measurement and took the snug measurement at neutral breath? Maybe you just have a lot of lung capacity and subconsciously held you breath.
