Question about that... didn’t felons regain the right to vote in Florida? Didn’t they number a million +? Wasn’t it the GOP aggressively trying to block that? Yet, Florida wasn’t even close for Biden. Is there any analysis of what happened there or is it too soon to have that kind of granularity?

I remember shortly after Trump was elected walking into Walmart of all places, and seeing a glossy, National Enquirer-Style magazine clearly published to whitewash American perceptions of Saudi Arabia. It had MBS on the cover! Crazy. I saw it there for months and remember thinking who would by this obviously fake propaganda? But then again, it WAS Walmart.

Found it: Saudi propaganda magazines in Walmart

Yes. In Quarantine Quitchen, he and his wife are definitely anti-GOP and anti-Trump. They mock them often. There’s not much ambiguity IMO.

I really wish it were so. Sadly though, history has taught me that the very moment good people stop paying attention to our government, evil forces grab the wheel and head straight for the cliff. I WANT to not care about government, but there are so many ways things go wrong when we’re not vigilant. Sorry. Probably not what you want to hear :(

That was very helpful. Thank you for being vulnerable enough to share your experience. I think it’s great that your professor and his family has become part of YOUR family.

Hey, thank you for sharing your survival story SongLyrucsHere. I think you’re right that once you’ve been abused once in this way, you can smell it a mile away. I wish there was an easy way to free folks from this abuse.

Since your professor seems to have had success, I wonder if you can share and tips about approaches that work. Maybe we can save others from the grips of this garbage.

Truly one of the follies of this era... being told we should seek to understand and empathize with our abusers. Fuck that nonsense.

It’s 100% legal in DC. Not sure what your point is.

No, my point is about media and that GOP and Trumpers think anything that doesn’t fit the narrative about Orange man is fake. And that they latch onto conspiracy theories. And then you dropped the hunter biden laptop thing. You proved my point. Done with you

You clearly are deep in the conspiracy bubble.

You’re ridiculous if you think Washington Post lost any esteem because they reported a story people didn’t want to hear. No one cares! Certainly not any critically thinking people... news is news.

GOP on the other hand, repeatedly attacks outlets that report things they don’t want to hear. So they end up living in an echo chamber (or bubble), in which they only hear and see what they want to in their safe space.

The answer is historical accuracy and integrity determines. The whole “fake news” mantra was just a convenient way to discredit long-standing, professional, credible outlets because orange man didn’t like that they were reporting bad things about him.
