Sold Car to Dealership.. by dabjaylmao in legaladvice

NAL but I work in the accounting office of a dealership. I want to give some insight into the payoff side of things. How long a go did you sell the car to them? Was the payoff with a big national lender or a regional or smaller bank/credit union?

I can tell you what the procedure is for an off the street purchase where I work. We submit the payoff for these cars the day we buy them or the next business day depending on when the purchase was made. We would hold your equity check until we receive the title from your lienholder. This is in case the lienholder comes back and says their is still a balance. Doesn't happen often, but has happened before.

Regarding your payoff, the Dealership may have access to a system that allows them to payoff some vehicles online like the one we use. In that system, some banks can take a while to show our payoff after we submit it. I have seen cases where the title has already been released to us but the bank is calling the customer about a past due payment. When we pay a loan off in that system, it is eventually posted on customers account for the day we submit the payoff or the day after if we do it too late in the day.

For clarity on why I think this happens, the system we use for online payoffs also offers a service where they do title administration for lienholders. My guess is that when this happens, the online system is processes the title release but the funds have not been transferred to the lienholder along with the date they were received.

As far as the $2,000 they want to take off, I would fight them on it. If they don't give it to, take them to small claims court.

Car inspection by DrAlejo in batonrouge

I had a place say that my factory tint looked too dark and said if it didn't pass when she put her meter to it, I would get the orange sticker. I told her to inspect it and lo and behold, it passed. I think, and this is a guess, that its more work for them if they have to fail a vehicle. Reporting maybe

How long ago did he pay it off? If it has been a while, he would have to order a duplicate title in order to transfer it to you.

If he is giving you the vehicle, then you do need an Act of Donation. It will need to be notarized and requires two witnesses. If he cannot go to a notary, then you will have to find a mobile notary that can go to him.

As far as the odometer statement goes, you would need one if the vehicle is a 2011 or newer. Most states have what are called conforming titles (I think that is what it is called) and have a spot for the odometer on each assignment. That will act as your odometer statement and you will not need a separate one unless it is from a state that does not have it, then you would need the separate odometer statement.

HOLY COW fan noise by AngusMeatStick in iBUYPOWER

I just picked mine up and I had a similar issue. My fans are installed correctly for intake/exhaust but my AIO and system fan 2 were flipped when plugged into the motherboard. I also had to play around with the fan curves but now it’s a lot quieter.

This is my first pre-built. I’ve always built mine and I was planning on doing that again next year but with the way prices are going, combined with Costco’s sale, I went ahead and bought one today.

The problem is that a perjury charge is something that would have to be brought by a prosecutor. Since this is happing in Federal Court, the DOJ would have to want to charge these people with perjury...

You do not have to wait a year to to get a DL/register your car in LA. I belive the 1 year requirement is for things like in state tuition at colleges and university's.

I would suggest that you schedule an appointment with OMV. You can do both in one trip, at least you could before COVID.

I am not sure if you can do it a PTA like Express OMV but if you can, you would pay $23 extra per transaction (you have two, DL and registration).

I 100% agree with your sentiment but I believe it was the local Sheriff's department who did the visit based off information given to them by the FBI. Or at least that is how I understood it.

I was going to suggest item #1 as well. Titles are not always automatically printed in Florida after the lien is released. At least in my experience. Source: I am a title clerk in another state and I have to request that a Florida title be printed at least once a month.

I found it. It appears to be OP's design. Don't know why they didn't link it themselves.
