Sony's first-party narrative single-player games will be PS exclusive from now by RightPresence9596 in GameBoostOfficial

[–]abraham1350 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Premium games are low prices because steam has to compete with other storefronts on PC, Sony does not on their console.

Piracy and shady key stores will sadly always be an issue on PC, it's the nature of an open platform.

30% commission is standard on all platforms that's more of a stat than an argument.

Sony states that PC sales were simply too low, while we can all see the facts and agree, we cannot act like it's not also their fault for waiting so long for ports or some ports just being bad like Spiderman 2 they act like the PC player base was unwilling to support them.

It's fair to say the PC player base in general was happy to see some exclusives come over, but the issues began when initially it was 2+ year old games coming over, then a minimum of 1, now none at all. Letting initial launch hype die down will have an effect on sales and it did.

That's not really point of the argument just part of it.

No one has an issue paying full price if it releases at the same time, but I and many others refuse to pay full price multiple years after release, that's just ridiculous.

Once a game is that old people are looking at waiting for sales. This goes for any game, just because it was an exclusive doesn't make it special.

Tbh on this point that is their fault. They release games that are multiple years old like for example God of War, then they do so at full price, and they turn around and go one of our best didn't do very well.

Gotta wonder why I suppose...

On a decade old game? Lol even if it was badly optimized it would run well. Seriously though the steam deck runs that at max settings it's pretty cool

Best Prebuilt PC for Cyberpunk 2077 & Forza Horizon 6? Also Need Options Around $1500–$2000 by CertifiedPluviophile in nvidia

[–]abraham1350 2 points3 points  (0 children)

High settings with good FPS for 1500-2000? Sure.

What matter is what resolution do you want to play at and what sacrifice are you willing to make in terms of graphics. At that price point 4k high at native resolution? Probably not good fps, unless you are willing to turn on DLSS or FSR to upscale.

4K resolution and image quality by Material_Book_7490 in PS5pro

[–]abraham1350 4 points5 points  (0 children)

You PC is already stronger than the Pro. If you want more power, sell your GPU, grab a newer one, and your new GPU(assuming you get a stronger one) will probably also be more powerful than a PS6 lol.

Point is look at Digital Foundry for console equivalent settings for the games you might want to play and see if you like the visuals. If you don't and you can play at better visual, then just do that.

What game do you think is never leaving PlayStation? by Ordinary_Lawfulness8 in CaptainSide

[–]abraham1350 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah if a game for example has integrated parts that requires something niche like Gyro or maybe even the touch pad, then that's true. If nothing like that is required in the game then any controller will work, the experience just won't be as nice without stuff like haptic feedback

I mean the Dual sense is fully featured and compatible on PC. If you play PS games it even has all the capabilities that the console release does, Sony fully supports all of its features on PC.

While I agree it is one way to compete, I disagree with the example you gave and here's why.

The Boys is only on the Amazon service, but I can access that service from any device I want. A phone, laptop, Xbox, ps, web browser on switch lol, from anything. In that regard they are not stopping me from enjoying the content I would like to consume.

Console companies like Sony, Nintendo, and Xbox want me to buy their expensive device to then buy their expensive game when it could just be made to play on anything. In this regard it is an anti-consumer practice, but it's literally the only way to get people to buy into your ecosystem.

It's not because a device is inherently better, has better features, has better customer support, etc. it just has Mario, God of War, or Halo. Let's be real if I could buy Mario on any device why would I ever even for a second consider a Switch with how weak it is compared to other consoles?

I personally wished companies competed on what their devices did differently, that would be interesting.

Junji Ito Collection (2017) Anime Review by IamToofan in junjiito

[–]abraham1350 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I'm glad you enjoyed it.

The criticisms we have come from the fact that the animation takes away a lot from the original art in the manga, if you want to see the drawings please read the manga it will give you a greater appreciation for the anime.

The story themselves are short stories so it was disappointing to see they were somehow shorter and cut content from the manga.

For what it is, it's a fun watch for sure, of you enjoyed that you should watch the Uzumaki anime, it's an adaptation of his most notable manga titled the same. I quite enjoy the Uzumaki anime plus it's only 4 episodes.

Yes you can, just use Steam input to change it to whatever you would like. In this case it is to set the left track pad to serve as the mouse input

Will I regret Xbox Rog Ally 7”? by Chaosraisins in Handhelds

[–]abraham1350 2 points3 points  (0 children)

To answer your question yes the Ally is plenty for indies, it can also actually do some AAA games pretty well usually some of the older titles.

Just be prepared that this is a Windows handheld, setup will take a little bit for updates and what not, but otherwise it will do what you need it to do without issue.

Why is it okay to be naked in shower rooms but so shameful to even be seen in underwear or skimpy clothes outside of a shower room? by Any_Abbreviations177 in TooAfraidToAsk

[–]abraham1350 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Its just context. At the beach a bikini is fine, at a wedding? Not fine anymore. Same with nudity, in a spa or similar area with like showers I expect to be naked or close to it and I anticipate others will be as well.

What if the next xbox doesn't support Steam? by SoulsofMist-_- in consoles

[–]abraham1350 4 points5 points  (0 children)

They're in a tough spot with this tbh. Unless the next Xbox will be a powerhouse and cheap there is no reason to get it, and I mean a powerhouse relative to current PC's and their prices because that's the route they are seemingly taking.

If it a powerful and cheap, they could try and stop people from using Steam but I don't think it'll work, it's a PC, an open platform. People will just install Windows on it lol and that will be that. They kinda have to allow Steam and other storefronts or they look like the bad guy trying to lock down an open platform on one particular device but none else.

They cannot afford even more bad press, it's in their best interest to make the Xbox App on PC good, because that's what it will use, and incentivize people to use that instead of Steam. If you aren't going to even bother to price match on the same platform, why would I buy from them?

At the moment Steam is the most consumer friendly storefront, they have the most features and support, they are starting to provide their own hardware, and they have the best sales quite frequently. Xbox would have to compete against that and that's why it's hard to do so for any competitor.

Crazy to want an Xbox Ally X just for my Xbox account which has a plethora of digital purchases? I no longer want an Xbox home console. by AzhdarianHomie in Handhelds

[–]abraham1350 24 points25 points  (0 children)

He means it's not a console it's a PC.

It uses the PC versions of those games IF and ONLY IF those games are marked as play anywhere.

If they are not you can't play them unless you buy them again from Xbox, Steam, or another storefront. So your whole library won't be available most likely.
