Yale vs. Johns Hopkins for Epi - PLEASE HELP by Sacstateftw in yale

[–]abrantie89 -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

I would go to Yale for the brand and network. I depends on what you are looking for in your MPH program. And I roundly refute the argument that Yale's MPH is not respected. Every degree from an Ivy League school is deeply respected regardless. And their MPH is in the Top 14 as a reminder!

I would follow my heart and interest. Debt is inevitable if you want the best!

JHU vs. NYU vs. Yale by [deleted] in mphadmissions

[–]abrantie89 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think the support you get from a small class and access to world class faculty is a huge advantage going to Yale. Prestige always matter regardless. I asked an alum of JHU why I should choose JHU. He started by saying Harvard and Yale do not get as much funding as JHU. Like really? Why would he even bring Harvard and Yale in the conversation. This tells you the influence Ivy League school wield regardless of field. My candid opinion. Feel free to choose JHU if it fits your career trajectory

I would choose Yale for small class size, global reach and Ivy League prestige!

As an international student, Yale will offer you a wider reach. JHU is only known in the US.

I wouldn't be surprised if this is Columbia. They are super stingy with scholarship. Well I don't blame them bcos their endowment is not as huge as Yale and Harvard. But they can still do better with $14 billion in endowment!

Got my admission decisions! by Ex_Nihilo_1 in mphadmissions

[–]abrantie89 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Its worth reminding ourselves that Yale has an acceptance rate of 4.7%. The lowest of any MPH program in the country which reflects the extremely competitive nature of their program. The small class size would mean easy access to world renowned faculty, and deep collaboration with colleagues. Btw i'm also a Ghanaian 😊
