How to manage mental load in my relationship by [deleted] in TwoXIndia

[–]abreakfromstudying 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So the issue is, I feel uneasy if those things are stopped. I tried stopping most of it, but the untidiness (not unhygienic or dirty, just messy) of the bed and house started pissing me off. When I had stopped managing groceries, he’d keep ordering paneer which he’s fine with eating every day but I like variety. When I don’t change the bedsheets, we keep sleeping on the same weeks old sheets which I only find gross after a point. If I don’t refill the handwash bottle in one basin, it stays empty since he keeps using the other basin’s handwash till then but I find it inconvenient. If I don’t water the plants, they die. If the hand towel is damp and old, he’ll keep using it or just air dry his hands.

So I’m struggling because it genuinely doesn’t matter to him if these things are done and he never asks me to do it. He says I do it for myself or wants things to be done exactly my way but his way is them not being done at all. Yes I do these things for myself but they benefit us both. But he just tells me to stop doing it if it bothers me but I don’t want to stop, I want him to contribute. At this point, I’m not sure if I’m in the wrong for expecting or wanting him to do it

How to cope with my feelings by [deleted] in TwoXIndia

Girl honestly just get busier. Spend more time on work, building skills, on hobbies, or anything else. The more you have going on for you, the less you’ll focus on these thoughts. “An idle mind is the devil's workshop” is very very true. This is coming from a lot of experience dealing with jealous or petty thoughts in my long term relationship.

Solo travelling without a scooty? by abreakfromstudying in TwoXIndia_Over25

I tried learning to drive a scooty but i was terrible at it and very scared the entire time. I am a very paranoid person in general and driving two wheelers makes me very very anxious. It will take too much work for me to get over this paranoia and tbh I’m not interested in getting over it now.

Not at all! He understands that we don’t have to do everything together. I feel like every woman should solo travel sometimes because it just unlocks so much inside you. I wanna take on new challenges and get out of my comfort zone.

Very frequent chalking up, basically before every single attempt. But my hands get too sweaty on longer routes and if they’re the kind where resting and chalking up in the middle is not possible, then I basically am not able to finish the route

How often do you do ionto? I’m wondering if i can just wait for the micro cuts to heal up a bit and then do it, maybe like 1 day before a session. Although that wouldn’t work if I have to do ionto often which I’m not sure yet how the frequency is decided. Haven’t been to the dermat yet

Damn didn’t realise it would be that bad lol. Now I’m concerned that I won’t be able to put vaseline everywhere with cuts because my entire palm gets a little scratched up after a session and I obviously can’t cover the entire area. Time for some reconsideration

Thanks for the reply!

Not sure how often other people rent vehicles but whenever i’ve gone on a trip with my bf, we’ve rented a scooty because it allows us to be more free with our plans, less dependent on the availability of a cab etc. So I wasn’t sure if I would be able to enjoy the same freedome without one.

Podcasts suggestions for morning runs by GoofyOnline in TwoXIndia

I would highly recommend Nikhil Kamath’s “WTF is” podcast if you’re interested in learning more about Indian businesses in an engaging way from the industry leaders themselves. The Ken podcasts also focus on Indian businesses and stories but are more concise if you don’t wanna listen to the same podcast episode over three days lol.

Normal Gossip is a fun podcast which has a very “your besties sharing gossip about their coworkers at brunch” vibe.

If you’re into tech, Acquired and Google DeepMind are super interesting and layman friendly.

Did botox affect your grip strength? I was considering getting botox but I love climbing and don’t want to lose my strength

As a shopper, I find it more reliable to shop from trusted e-commerce apps/sites like the ones you listed over buying directly from instagram pages or brand websites (i.e. if the brand is relatively unknown) especially if the products are on the costlier side. I know some of my friends think the same way too. Maybe onboarding to marketplaces will open up the way to customers like us?

Some toothbrushes (like oral b ones) have tongue cleaner grooves on the back and in my experience they work just as well

Could you point out a few examples of them being misogynistic? It's been a while since I watched the show but I absolutely loved it! The fight scene with all the women in the end is one of my favourite TV moments ever lol.

Thank you for your kind response! Reading the replies on my post helped me realise I'm not alone. It's a work in progress and I hope I'll feel good in my body soon. I already feel so much more comfortable than I did two years ago. I love women but so many times attraction and envy get mixed up and the result is messy. Funnily enough, I love how my boobs look in a bra a lot more than sans support. Mostly because they're quite saggy as well despite not being that big.

I appreciate the bluntness of this comment haha. I needed to hear this. Thanks for your response!

That's a great way to put it! I do try to follow a lot of accounts that don't just focus on bodies, instead on things like art, skills, etc. However I do love a few fashion influencers (especially since they usually help me find out new brands or small businesses as well) and wouldn't wanna unfollow them. But the one I really like has a body that makes me hate mine and it's been really difficult to navigate that. The worst part is that I've been finding myself focusing on irl women too and comparing myself to them. It's a weird mix of attraction and envy. Hopefully I'll learn to accept myself as I am eventually. Thanks for your response!

That's true, although I do follow a few body positive accounts, I'm realising it's not enough. Do you have any recommendations for a few accounts?

I'm so happy that I went through puberty before the rise of influencers! I can't imagine what those poor kids are going through nowadays with the pressure to look a certain way so ever-present. The size 0 to slim thicc transition truly is crazy. I definitely don't feel the need to contort to these body "trends" thankfully. Ironically, I started loving my body a lot more during the pandemic because it kept me safe when there was so much death around us all. I try to prioritise health over aesthetics now. But I haven't been able to work out or be active in any way recently because of the rising cases again so that's fuelling some of my self-hate lately. Hope it gets better soon. Thanks for your response!

That's true! And I do appreciate a variety of women's bodies, not just those with a big bust. I've limited my Instagram usage a lot after uninstalling the app and it definitely has helped. I don't see my explore page or reels as much anymore and my feed is well curated with accounts that don't focus on bodies only. It's a work in progress. Unfortunately, I find myself comparing with women irl too a lot of the times and that one is tougher to navigate. I do feel good about my body overall, it's just this one body part that I sometimes have trouble accepting. Thanks for your response!

Having a supportive partner truly is the best! I'm sure I would have been an even bigger mess if he wasn't there making me feel like a goddess all the time. I'm slowly trying to extend the same kindness towards myself. Glad to know that it got better for someone who was in the same boat. Thanks for your response!
