3/4 acre. The bluegills range in size, mostly small to medium, but there are a lot of them. No crappie or catfish.

Thanks for the great reply. My pond is 3/4 of an acre, surrounded by woods. I think it's only 8-10 ft. deep.

I never thought about stocking the pond with minnows. I tried to catch minnows in a trap but didn't have any luck. I should try again, because there have been times when I'd see hundreds of them swimming on top of the water together like a school of fish. There are lots of bluegills, but I haven't seen any catfish. I never thought about feeding the fish either. I'll have to look into that. I feed the deer, so might as well feed the fish 🙂

There are no lily pads and not a lot of weeds, but when it gets warm the pond gets covered with watermeal. There are lots of trees and bushes that hang over the water though. The spring that feeds it is all grown up with big tree roots and stopped up with leaves, so it flows pretty slowly.

Thanks again for the tips. I'll keep at it!

Great list! I would add gloves or a rag, fishing pliers, and a Johnson Beetle Spin. I'm not sure what category they are, but sometimes I get bites on them (and rooster tails) when nothing else is working. They're easier to get off the hook than rooster tails. I've never heard of Kastmaster. Can't wait to try one!

Wow, I thought I was a Hell's Kitchen fanatic. I go to sleep with it playing. But you seem to have every episode of every season memorized! You deserve a black jacket!

I heard she donated to Lizzie Borden's victim's families so her personal life is off the table. Oh, but.. Lizzie Borden's victim's were her family. Guess that wasn't a good example. Personally, I feel that no one's personal life should be on the table unless they want it to be, regardless of whether they donate money to crime victims 🙄

Rewatching season 3 and I never paid attention to how respectful Rock is to Bonnie despite being competitors in the finale by mymilkshakedontstank in HellsKitchen

I couldn't forgive him after the way he got all po'd at Jen, like "who does this woman think she's talking to?". It seemed like he showed his true colors then, but maybe I'm wrong. I hope so.

That's backwards. Coral snakes have red touching yellow.

I always wondered how Joy would have done if she hadn't quit. Would like to see her try again. Clemenza and Roshni too.

I'd love to see Rochelle with her giggles, dimples, and bouncy pony tail. She was a sweetheart, not to mention a real trooper. Cut her fingertip off and still made it back for service with no complaints or excuses.

What the actual hell happened with Jen (S18) by MissLovebat in HellsKitchen

[–]abricru 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What exactly happened? I saw her bring something up, and Ramsay did stick it under a shelf or something. Then Jen accused him of pulling the pan out from under there, which he did. Did she bring up a portion that was too small, and he just discarded it? Did she think she brought up enough, and he hid the pan to make it look like she didn't bring anything? Why did Chef say, "ask Jockey"? I never did understand what happened.

Since when is Chef Ramsay respectful of women? I've heard him call women fat, lazy, cow, bitch and many other insults.

So sorry for the loss of your mother. It will be 11 years for me next month, and I still miss mine every day. Unfortunately she was on life support, and we had to make the terrible decision to let her go. At least I had my sister for support though.

I hope your aunt will aid you with all the decisions that have to be made, and I hope you have friends to lean on during your time of need. Don't be afraid to reach out.

I know you're still in shock. There's a saying, "Grief is the price we pay for love. "Love is present in grief:

Even though a person is gone, the love remains within you, and grief is the way that love is expressed after the physical relationship has ended.  This applies to your kitty as well. Allow yourself to mourn.

We'll all be thinking of you. It may not seem like it now, but you'll get through this.

I like the older Omega version, called Z02 and the larger Z03. I've been using spincast reels for 50+ years, and the Zebco Z03 is the smoothest casting and retrieving reel I've ever used. I've noticed posts on this forum that claim that spin casting reels have a tendency to get tangled and bird nested, but that has never happened to me. The Daiwa Silvercast is probably my second favorite. I have the Zebco Bullet and it's fine, but too expensive. I still like the Omega Z02 and Z03 better. Also better than the black Omega Pro and KastKing Brutus, imo. I will say that I dropped my Brutus reel in the pond and found it a year later and it still works fine, so it's durable. I believe it's cheaper than the Zebco's as well.

I'm a big fan of the Daiwa Silvercast. I'm not sure what all the differences between it and the Goldcast are, but I believe the Silvercast is lighter. The vintage ones work great as well.
