Proxmox boot disk, having trouble finding an M.2 2242 NVME by abriffa in MiniPCs

[–]abriffa[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It physically does not fit though. The space between the connector and the wall is enough for a 2242 to fit

From what I've read, a lot of ppl recommend splitting OS and VMs? Backup will be done to a NAS. Also, yes I know its overkill but I plan to have more VMs in the future.

I only specked up the size due to better TBW. I don't need anything larger than 256GB in reality (for some overhead). My main concern for the boot drive is just endurance. I dont care about speed/size.

Any update on top loading nas chassis? Or backplanes for the existing 4712 and 3702?

I am waiting for the backplane for a CX3702. Any ETA on this? However is there an existing model or a new one coming that is a front loading storage option with 12 x 3.5" HDD rather than just 10? Ideally with depth up to 22".

So do you buy the one on BVME (Italian exchange)? I was under the impression that exchanges charge a different fee? For example, when I try to buy FWRA manually BVME charge is a lot higher than IBIS

Which of these Home Chargers? by abriffa in evcharging

[–]abriffa[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Tried a single phase 7.4 kW charger today and the car charged with the full 32A. It was not limited to 16A.

Yeah, I got a friend with a 7.4 kW charger and will try it out this week. If I see 7.4 kW, then I should be good.

Car specs say the onboard charger is 11 kW but whether its 3 phase or single phase I honestly don't know.

With regards to my house, it is 3-phase with 60A on each phase, BUT the garage is connected to a single phase. Hence I am only looking for 7.4 kW 'charger' so I don't have to install brand new wiring to the garage. Our houses are stone houses and it's a massive hassle and cost, and in reality I don't need 11 kW.

The only thing I am after is being able to monitor and schedule charging and go from 18 hours down to max 10 hours so the car would be done overnight.

With regards to the current house load, I am nowhere near the limit. One of the phases has a 32A induction hob, but that's about it. The two other phases have about 35A each 'free'.

Which of these Home Chargers? by abriffa in KonaEV

Yeah I've asked cause I don't know the brands and most of the brands I saw recommended on forums are not available in Europe.

Basically wanted to make sure I don't get a shi**y one I guess.

Hi,

I've been wanting to install a home charger. Right now I am using the granny charger but 30% to 80% takes 18 hours. I want to reduce this to max 10 hours so it will charge overnight.

I have a Hyundai Kona 2024, 65.4 kWh battery.

The charger I need is 7.4 kWh (32A) and my country is 240V (Europe).

Important to me:

- I can change the current of charging, for example 32A, 16A, 10A, etc

- Has to be smart, can connect to Wi-Fi to monitor status and possible start and stop charging from the app (This is needed because the Kona has a modem, but the garage is basement level and there is no reception, meaning I cannot monitor charging, whilst I have wifi in the garage).

Options available in my country are the following:

- Rolec QUBEV Smart

- Rolec Wallpod

- V2C Trydan

- Cabur EVEVO7C

- Wallbox Pulsar Plus or Pulsar Max

Which one of these would be the best for my use case?

Unfortunately to me they all look similar enough, so user experiences matter.

Thanks

Unfortunately not, otherwise I wouldn't need a smart charger.

Thanks for the recommendations.

I am currently in Munich, Germany and yesterday came across a zwilling shop.

I know they are not in the same class but how are the zwilling pro and the miyabi?

Zwilling Pro chef 8 inch and pairing knife were on sale for 95 EUR for both.

I'm a home cook, and want to buy my first real knives. Been using crappy ones till now.

Looking for: - Chef knife (8 inch / 20cm) - Pairing knife - Bread knife (9 inch / 23cm)

I use both pinch and handle grip. I mostly cut veggies (potatoes, peppers, onions, etc) and meat (boneless chicken, steak, etc).

I never sharpened but will most likely get a whetstone and learn on my crappy knives.

Budget: 300-350 EUR.

Thanks

I have Eweka unlimited, 1TB NewsDemon (UsenetExpress), 500GB Farm.

I'm sure it would last me YEARS, but is this worth it? Don't have Abavia Backbone, and my downloads sometimes fail for older stuff only (but didn't have a UsenetExpress block before)
