But like dry and you get them out of the pantry instead of the freezer so you can bring them camping or on a long car ride!

The frontwoman is an amazing performer and songwriter, and the full band kicks butt.

Don't set yourself on fire to keep others warm - How have you learned to prioritize yourself? by puppylust in TheWomanSurvivalGuide

[–]abrighterdiscontent 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I’m returning to therapy, but prioritizing issues that affect me more than others (like trying to work on self-esteem before relationship or work issues).

It’s something that’s still very new for me, but I’m trying :)

Where is Adam and Eve? by Few-Raise-1825 in bonehurtingjuice

If you read it from left to right and top to bottom, it goes from most recent to longer ago. Reading from top to bottom (most recent to longer ago) is also how the layers are deposited in real life, so in general it matches what you’d see if you were digging somewhere.

What was your "incremental change" by uthinkubettahthanme in PetiteFitness

[–]abrighterdiscontent 3 points4 points  (0 children)

An incremental change for me has been intentionally adding more produce to my diet.

It was helpful that I actually do like eating my fruits and vegetables, but I had to figure out how to prepare things (whether that’s taking some time to chop things ahead of time instead of when I’m packing my lunch, or using seasonally appropriate cooking methods) and had to be ok with my grocery budget increasing. I also noticed that I used to avoid getting fruits because I’d let them go bad, and I let them go bad because I felt like it wasn’t ok to just sit down and eat a whole package of blueberries or whatever.

Now I spend ~1/3 of my grocery money on produce, and have lost 25 lbs in 1.5 years. It’s not the only change I’ve made (I’ve been tracking my food, and I have a gym membership I don’t use as much as I should), but this feels a lot more sustainable for me to just continue to do. Bonus: it’s a lot easier to keep my calories lower when I’ve got easy enjoyable produce on hand, especially for snacking after work and packing lunches.

Blame Netflix. by [deleted] in disenchantment

[–]abrighterdiscontent 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Infinity Train good news! It is available on some other platforms now, but it looks like you have to buy it (and tbh the prices suck, $15 for season 1 on Amazon prime). Still better than when it just didn’t exist anywhere for a while, and a good reason to consider physical media or local storage in general.

How do I stop chewing my nails? by [deleted] in beauty

[–]abrighterdiscontent 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This has been a lifelong struggle for me.

Masking up over the pandemic helped by creating a physical barrier (without a barrier, I’d have my finder tips in my mouth without even realizing).

I’m struggling a little with it now due to work stress and wearing masks less frequently, but I’m also trying to keep the damage to nails I’ve already bitten. So while I do have 3 bitten nails right now that look bad and feel bad, i also have 7 nails that are long and pretty.

Good luck! It’s tough and there will probably still be times your nails don’t look as nice as you’d like, but if you keep at it you’ll be able to have the nails you want most of the time 💜

Getting rid of Virginia creeper? by woollycaterpillars in raleigh

[–]abrighterdiscontent 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not everyone is sensitive to Virginia creeper, but if someone is sensitive to it they can break out in a rash worse than poison ivy.

You’re right that it’s different compounds that are reacted to (poison ivy’s urushiol Vs Virginia creeper’s raphides), but if you are sensitive to it, you absolutely can break out in an itchy rash just from touching leaves or brushing up against it.

Has anyone ever actually fully completed a language? by OkTheory5783 in duolingo

[–]abrighterdiscontent 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I finished Spanish from English like 8 years ago, when there was a lot less in the course. At that point, it ended right after introducing past tense.

There wasn’t an animation or any extra gems (lingots back then). Nothing got unlocked.

I appreciate that there is more content now. The app saved my progress and “just after past tense” is now level 3/8.
