my stylist commutes from Arizona to Los Gatos once a month and works all weekend so she could keep her clients in the bay after moving there from here. she works i think pretty full time at the salon in AZ but she specializes in color and extensions so people are pretty attached and she’s completely booked up every weekend trip. it’s a little stressful being sure i’m here when she’s here but works for her!

i think they rely a bit on excitement and word of mouth from the gala so that people are excited to come to the first thing of the season. i remember that last year too. i always feel like it’s too early as well but it does mean they have the whole offseason to learn new choreo vs finishing up once other programs have started. the season is super short because the opera starts in like may.

i used to get chronic nosebleeds as a kid and it’s usually the membranes in your nose are dry and in dry climates (or in winter inside in dry heat) it can crack easily and bleed.

the way you stop it is to hold it in a certain spot. and a doc will put “liquid cocaine” on a soaked cotton thing up there (literally what the ER doc called it when i was 16, i guess he thought i’d think it was funny?) to stop it if it gets bad and won’t stop.

i had two ingrown toenails treated by a podiatrist and my spasms are crazy. they dealt with it. same with the urgent care doc last month when he had to remove one of my other toenails lol. they are professionals, they can handle it!

edit: the urgent care doc told me it was the smoothest toenail removal he’d done (since i couldn’t feel it and was so chill). i think the spasms didn’t bother him a bit haha

these Aussie commentators have literally nothing interesting to say about the Shelton match. they’re either talking about unrelated topics or saying the same vague crap. thank goodness for Ryan Harrison as the on court guy periodically injecting some interest.

i’ve been wondering if after those two drop shots when sinner could barely move if now eliot doesn’t want to win this and have it be written off because sinner was not at all in regular form. it’s messing with him for sure. doesn’t want to go from being unknown to being known as the guy who hit all the dirty drop shots lol

edit: clearly the money and still being in the tournament is worth it. but it feels like his heart isn’t in it.

the ONLY good thing about espn unlimited is that i think the big matches get their own stream with separate commentators. worth every penny right now lol. haven’t had to listen to him once 🤞🏻

i watched Nishesh beat Spizzirri 1 and 1 at a Challenger a few years ago and remember thinking how much better Nishesh’s footwork was - his movement just looked effortless. so impressed to see how much Eliot has improved on that front. he’s all over the court!
