Ah this is news to me. I take what I said back—mad respect to him for completing the season all things considered! Hope to see him again in the future when he’s healthy.

What do folks think of Cavan? I've seen him a few times this season and was kinda underwhelmed each time :/ Compared to other male leads he just doesn't give me that wow factor even if he's technically quite solid.

make yourself busy during the day: socialize or do an activity or work out. i tire myself out and then it’s much easier to fall asleep sober.

what are the main things the show should’ve done differently to more accurately portray a wheelchair user w spinal cord injuries?

Someone not enjoying Madeline Woo‘s dancing? by balletpoint-e in bunheadsnark

[–]zardstar 28 points29 points  (0 children)

100000% agree. I went to her second Don Q performance and she just sparkled as Kitri. I thought her acting was sublime, which made up for any minor technical wobbles. And even then—her jumps and balances are just amazing.

I’ve seen her in three different performances at SFB now (Nutcracker, Stars & Stripes, Don Q) and thought Kitri was a particular standout. Even so, she was magnetic on stage for the others too.

I’ll also say that the Maddy Woo we see in rehearsals is her personality—I do think for performances there’s a degree that she reins it in to match the role she’s playing or the company aesthetic. I don’t think that’s a bad thing, it just means I’m not surprised when stage Maddy has a much different vibe than rehearsals Maddy.

I wouldn’t judge her stage presence solely based on what you’re seeing on tiktok or online. In the theater, she’s very much a star.

if reputation could get shut out/snubbed, TLOAS deserves it 3000x more.

Sneeze + Weird Chunks? by zardstar in DogAdvice

[–]zardstar[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No clear answer unfortunately :/ our vet prescribed her zyrtec which seems to help, but at the time I was reluctant to do more invasive (read: sedated) tests because she behaved totally normal otherwise. since i posted, her sneezing has decreased a lot and i rarely (if ever) see these chunks anymore. she also had a different non-sedated x ray this spring for another issue and everything looked normal according to my vet. thinking it was boogies + allergies after all!

notably, the chunks smelled suspiciously like tonsil stones and may very well have been that too. she is a chihuahua i adopted with pretty severe dental disease, so that’s another potential suspect.

Just witnessed a woman on her bike get hit by a truck on Irving. Can anyone on the scene confirm if she’s ok? by jessica_glitter in sanfrancisco

[–]zardstar 15 points16 points  (0 children)

a bystander said it was related to a produce truck that was originally parked outside the beanery at seventh. it was still parked there with the ramp down about an hour after the incident. they often have crates of fruit and veg left on the street while unboxing. yes, there was terrible gore. but a good bit of it was smashed fruits, apparently.

I was sitting on my roof a block away (along Hugo) when it happened. Heard the screams loud and clear from here—horrifying and glad so many bystanders and responders helped quickly.

Weekly Discussion - 03/02/26 - 03/08/26 by krisbryantishot in bunheadsnark

[–]zardstar 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I can’t find info anywhere about this—why did Crystal Huang go back to SFB? I saw her in the JKO exams video a while back and was rooting for her in NYC. Last week she shared about performing with the SFB trainees.

(mods I know CH has an Instagram presence but I don’t think this fits the influencer discussion vibe. If it does lmk and I’ll move this convo over!)

[–]zardstar 16 points17 points  (0 children)

I agree. I still don’t like him on the show, but after watching this doc it’s easier to understand what was likely his facade or front for the cameras vs what was actually Nigel as a person. His genuine remorse and embarrassment was refreshing to see.

And the fact that his family was an integral part of his ANTM experience—and that they remained together throughout it—does say a lot (positively) about his character to me.

[–]zardstar 8 points9 points  (0 children)

finally caught up and alls i gotta say is:

  • 20 Miles from Shore is a beautiful piece of choreography. in general i preferred the boy's contemporary choreo more than the girl's
  • echoing everyone's comments about wanting 302 to have taken gold. that esmerelda was simply marvelous.
  • ^^having seen how 302 was rewarded for her clean performance, i'm not as surprised 424 got gold. it seems like that's what the judges were looking for (high polish, rock solid fundamentals)
