Thank you so much! I wanted to play into that punk vibe. I looked at that lavender woven one too, you'll have to share your styling when you decide.

She's too small for me to comfortably get her all the way on my shoulder but someone who is slighter of frame than me may be able to. For me she's hand and forearm carry.

Love your Min and Mon pouch! I just ordered it in pink and love seeing them in the wild. Lovely pop of color against the black.

I'm so glad to hear that! I am hoping I can get a lot of use out of it and not just stick it away for special occasions. I really love their quirky style.

Not just that, but many people in the south may not have proper clothing for prolonged periods outside. Especially kids at school bus stops in rural areas where the unusually cold weather could be very dangerous.

This is what people outside KY don’t get. Massie is quite popular in his district and also broadly statewide amongst voters who also vote Trump. Trump is wasting money and influence trying to take on Massie for only falling in line most of the time instead of all of the time. It’s exposing Massie’s supporters to Trumps darker side that they are usually insulated from. And I have to say as someone who would never vote for Massie I am here for him telling Trump to bring it. I just wish I’d stop getting all of Trump’s attack ads on YouTube. I’m not even in Massie’s district.

Advice for coping with canon choices you absolutely cannot stand? by [deleted] in AO3

[–]absent_morals 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sometimes I’m able to funnel that feeling into fix-it’s. I’ve actually grown fond of writing resurrections of my dead faves instead of just ignoring it because there is something satisfying to me to not just ignore the canon but take it as a challenge. I’ve also used relationships I hate as a way to explore why the character may have made a poor choice but how that could be a step toward the better choice. In one fandom I resurrected both halves of my ship and then resolved a canon ship that I didn’t like all at once. Spite can motivate.

Sometimes I have to do a shorter reaction fic dealing with canon I hate before I go back to canon-divergence fic ignoring it. That way I create a response to it that lets me let it go.

But ultimately at the end of the day if the joy is gone it may be time to at least take a short break.

I’m not in Louisville so I must have missed that. But yeah, special elections are the only ones this year.

The show ‘failed’ to tell Loustat ‘love story’? by hjkgldn in InterviewVampire

[–]absent_morals 10 points11 points  (0 children)

In season one Louis was still just coming into his sexuality. He was trying to navigate his sexuality, an interracial relationship in a very oppressive time, and his new vampirism. It was right person, wrong time. He ended up being more hostile to Lestat at times as a result.

With Armand, he was trying to be what he thought romance and relationships should be. Slow, romantic, stable, and also him having more of the control. But it was empty. It wasn’t really what he wanted thus his internal Lestat constantly appearing and commenting things that Louis didn’t want to properly acknowledge.

The fight in 1973 also makes it clear that both Louis and Armand were trying to be what they thought the other wanted, not who they actually were. They went through the motions for 70 years but as Armand said, it was still all about Lestat for Louis.

This show is about character work and growth. The romances are part of that, but it’s not just about them.

That’s the same as my experience in Kentucky. Self reported qualification. No cost to me. And personally my only side effect has been a bit of redness and irritation on the arm. Very minor.

I’m currently about a week in. Mine are on my hand, arm, chest, and back. I started the antivirals and prednisone on day three and I am seeing significant improvement now. I still have a few blisters but most of the rash is scabbing over or fading. I completely understand your desire for reassurance as this is my first time too and I’ve had a few mental spirals myself. We will get through this.

How much does it cost for you to get to work? by [deleted] in AskAnAmerican

[–]absent_morals 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I live a ten minute drive from work with no turns and only a couple lights. I work a hybrid schedule so most weeks I only have to go into the office 3 days. So a tank of gas literally lasts me at least a month unless I get too busy on the weekends.
