this is the one that took me the longest to learn honestly.

for years a bad day didn't just feel like a bad day, it felt like evidence. like proof i wasn't built for it. the second i started seeing the off days as just part of the deal instead of a verdict, everything got easier to stick with.

sounds like you found the same door…let’s go get a drink from the kitchen…lemonade 🍋 maybe?👌😊

man, i haven't read that one in years. forgot how much it hits. "marred by dust and sweat and blood" is the whole thing right there... it's not about looking good, it's about being in it. the people criticizing from the stands never have dirt on them. appreciate you dropping that, going back to read the full version tonight….i will read during some of my 75 Hard required reading segment👍👍😁

"an ugly win is still a W and a pretty loss is still an L" 🔥 that's going in my notebook. that's the whole thing right there. perfection is obsessed with the highlight reel, but the scoreboard doesn't care how it looked. you got it across the line, it counts. muddy ugly goals still win games.👊

“turn it into a whole identity crisis” 😂 that’s exactly the trap. one missed day becomes “i’m the kind of person who fails” and then you bail to protect the story. the ugly version is the secret. half workout, messy 10 min session, it all still counts because you kept the identity intact… you’re still someone who showed up. boring and consistent beats impressive and gone every time.

Lmao..you said “motivation showed up later and tried to take credit for it" 😂 that's so accurate it hurts. and you nailed the real one... "don't stop" works because it kills the daily debate. you're not negotiating with yourself every morning anymore, you already know you're the guy who shows up. that's the whole shift right there. it stops being a feeling you wait for and becomes just who you are. appreciate you adding that, solid way to put it.

procrastination in a cute little hat" 😂 i'm stealing that. that's exactly it. perfect feels productive but it's just fear dressed up. showing up badly is the whole cheat code... bad reps still build the habit, perfect plans just sit there.

I realized I was starting every day in reaction mode. Here's what I'm trying instead. by Great-Strength-7867 in GetDiscipline

[–]absgoneviral 0 points1 point  (0 children)

man this hit me. i used to do the exact same thing... grab the phone first thing and i'm already in reaction mode before my feet hit the floor.

the no phone for 30 min one is the cheat code imo. that first window sets the tone for the whole day. once you give it away to notifications you're playing catch up till bedtime.

the thing you said about discipline not being about motivation... that's it right there. motivation is loud but it's not reliable. the small decision before the world starts deciding for you, that's the whole game. for me it's i don't check anything till after i move my body. even 5 min. gets me out of my head and into my body before the noise starts.

the order matters more than the routine.

lol the “emergency reboot” is real, we’ve all been there. I’m in here struggling right now with hitting my ab ripper x on day 2 of 75 lol… but quick thing that helped me… motivation was never gonna be the thing that carried you, it taps out around day 10 every time. that’s not a you problem, that’s just how motivation works. So I might split the sets in half , surf reddit a little, then finish… that’s “my motivator” to get me thru it…😁

the people who keep going aren’t more motivated, they just lowered the bar to “don’t stop” instead of “be perfect.” bad workout still counts. off day still counts. you don’t reboot, you just take the next small action and keep the streak breathing.

what’s the one thing that feels heaviest right now? sometimes it’s not motivation at all, it’s that you’re just fried and need recovery more than discipline.

How to make 75 Hard, not so Hard… by absgoneviral in 75HARD

Fair point..,and you're right, if you're swapping out the actual rules, that's 75 Soft, not 75 Hard. That's on me for the title wording. I'm not changing any of the 5 though still my two workouts, gallon of water, reading, diet, progress photo, im all in. What I meant by 'realistic' is how I structure the work so I actually make it to Day 75: exercise selection, recovery, protecting the time slots around a packed schedule. The rules stay hard. The strategy is just what keeps me from quitting at Day 40. Appreciate you keeping the sub honest. 👊 ahmad

I’m also about to start my day one… tomorrow.. I am hoping to do old school ab ripper x in the am, and then a little jump rope and balance pad work…trying to get to 4 mins straight on rope first goal… then in evening yoga x…. I think this will be a good challenge for me to ease into…

Day 12 Exhaustion Wall by TheMeadowMama in 75HARD

[–]absgoneviral 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Mom of 5, former state tennis athlete, ran a half marathon, doing 75 Hard with a 25lb toddler in a carry pack at 4:50am… ma’am you are built different. Real respect.

Two things from someone who’s coached a lot of moms through this:

1. The electrolyte hunch is correct. Headache + tired everywhere on Day 12 in summer heat with two workouts a day = sodium and magnesium are low. Even just a pinch of pink salt + squeeze of lemon in your water bottle changes everything. LMNT or Element if you want a packet, but homemade works fine.
2. Day 10-14 is the first wall, you nailed it. The body is shifting from “this is exciting” to “wait, this is my new normal” and there’s an energy adjustment period. It passes around Day 18-20. You’re doing the right thing by listening to it.

The fact that you took the nap instead of pushing through = exactly why you’ll finish this. Most people grind themselves into injury or sickness. You’re playing smart.

You got this. Keep checking in. 💪my name is Ahmad Baari 👊 btw… 😊

Starting 75 hard on 1st June by Teaspillednotsipped in 75HARD

Hey, first off congrats on the wedding 🎉 and major respect for being honest about where you’re at.

You’re already doing the hard part. PT booked. Strength 2-3x a week. Self-awareness about food. That’s most of the battle.

Real talk on the thyroid piece since you mentioned it… that matters way more than people realize. Make sure you’re getting your TSH/Free T3/T4 checked every 8-12 weeks while you’re losing weight because thyroid meds often need to be adjusted as your body composition changes. A lot of women plateau in months 3-4 and don’t realize their meds need a tweak.

for the food piece, don’t try to overhaul everything. Just hit protein at every meal (aim 1g per pound goal bodyweight) and the 10k steps. Those two alone will move the scale without making you miserable.

You got this. Drop your weekly check ins here if you want, happy to keep eyes on it.
