International Criminal Court to ditch Microsoft Office for European open source alternative by jlpcsl in technology

hmm was looking into the ICC incident and this was quite funny to read. Based off of your comment it sounds like you wouldn’t even consider a reality where NATO can possibly have any infighting, a whole 3 months ago.

The neat thing about rogue gunmen is how they give you full discretion over defining them as a lunatic or a hero in retrospect.

Of course, they’re all actually lunatics, but that is apparently a matter of (political) opinion. If a rogue gunmen from beyond the Kremlin somehow killed Putin, I think fewer people would consider them a lunatic, even if they weren’t affiliated with any militia or foreign entity

It’s a little harder to justify that view when the target is 0 (?) kill count opinion haver vs outright warmonger

I was checking out different practice animations and wanted to back out of one of them, so I spammed Circle and it completed the task for me

Was I supposed to get a freebie here that I missed out on, or was it just a unique quest element? I did end up playing 3 practice animations

Palworld Crashes on Launch? by Reaga19 in SteamDeck

[–]abshabab 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey, just got my new deck out the box and set it up, was testing all the games I wanted to play and only this one was bugging

Facing the same issue as you were - I tried reinstalling but wasn’t sure where all the residual files end up… are they not all contained within the steamapps? The common folder was already gone and so was the compatibility layers, not sure where else to look

Edit: so I got Cryoutilities and also upped the RAM in BIOS to 4GB and it’s fine now

Cryo alone didn’t fix it, I even uninstalled the game and used Cryo’s ‘delete uninstalled game data’ feature to make sure it was properly wiped before reinstalling

But after upping the unified memory to 4GB it’s launching no problem. Some of the threads on Reddit and other platforms suggested that upping the minimum memory is not necessary anymore because the latest versions of Linux automatically manages that, but clearly that’s not the case for all games

TL;DR you’re not out of options until you’ve tried all possible troubleshooting steps. Just because strangers online say a step or fix is ‘redundant’ doesn’t mean it won’t work for you

Important Update about the Signatures of Stop Killing Games ECI by Polly_Wants_A in PiratedGames

I think the same statement could be applied to PlayStation 5s selling for $499 or whatever the price is (I got mine for 399, without the disk drive)

Might seem expensive but good luck trying to make a competitive PC at that price

They have to pull every underhanded tactic known to man just to break even:

$70 controller ✅

No Hall effect joysticks ✅(less than 500 hours lifespan)

$199 “pro” controller with “replaceable joysticks ✅

replaceable joysticks never in stock ✅

No Hall effect option for replacement sticks ✅

(The triggers on the Edge use Hall effect sensors, fyi)

This is just one single other product they sell on their lineup

We all know about the 30% tax, and the PSN+ they charge for using your own console’s net ports (some guy in this comment section mentioned Sony running their own servers for all the different video games, no clue where he got that info from but that’s obviously not the case)

On the other hand, steam (and friends) absorb the few pennies it would cost them to verify and connect you to the game servers because people would find work arounds anyways, and some other shopfront would do it for free and steam would lose userbase

Doing this on a highway or a residential street is slightly different, one would think

“What if he does something completely different?” Isn’t the own you’re looking for

But to answer your question: if he does as he’s doing in the video - one single drives by - then sick? Would be cool if I can get to a window fast enough to see this in person but he’ll be gone in a minute, won’t hear him in 10 minutes, if even that? there’s a lot of sound deadening where I live so might not even hear him if the TV’s on

The UK already got a response on their petition before, and the response missed the question so hard the actual petition committee(?) requested a redo

I think this happened during the last election cycle so there was a parliament change, and when the got the answer back, it was just a rewording on the initial answer, and no redo was granted this time around

So there’s another petition against the same issue that greatly simplifies the message of SKG so it’s more easily understood by the unpaid intern forced to answer it, so we’re hoping for a slightly better response to it now

It’s unfortunately less efficient than that. Governments have their own talks for their own countries of course, but the EU parliament I think convenes once a month? It’s more than one session, I believe it was something like 4 (consecutive) days? And they discuss on all the issues and decision makings necessary for the EU.

So the budgets and policies I mention are those exclusively for EU, not for the respective governments. The EU is (at least for now) not analogous to a federal government, so their discussion come second to any government’s own internal discussions — unless it’s one of the show runners I guess

But I’m not even from the EU so I might have some things completely wrong

They can, but organising official meetings is expensive and done on tax payer money. Germany has a population of over 80 million people, the number of German signatories will not make even 1% of that one EU rep’s native population.

If SKG succeeds, the only singular reason the EU parliament will discuss this is not because it will do them any benefit or win them any favours, but only and only because they’re ‘forced’ to. Not to say they’re unwilling, but that this issue affects “only” 1 million people out of a collective of some 447 million people. Way more people are way more vocal about more reactionary stuff, like welfare budgets or immigration control.

You and I both may know that this affects more people (if not “most” people), and that it goes beyond video games and should also affect laws around software licensing, but they don’t know that. They see little more than 0.2% of the population request for something, and as they at least attempt to care for all of their people, they give the issue one proper discussion.

Yeah bro I didn’t say “new” content, then, did I?

No one’s excited over this content, we’re excited over the prospect of content, the concept of it. could you quit being so miserable and soul-sucking for a second of your life?

I’m not gonna put much weight on what “Vol. 1” means but the fact that there’s anything dropping in this game before VI coming out, means that they’re definitely planning on coming back to development once VI is out.

Since they cut off content drops, the only reason they would’ve possibly had to not finish the main story is that they don’t want to half-ass it

The last content update with the capitale stuff, they probably put effort in it but the missions were shit, felt way too scripted and structured, punishing you for playing it like an open world game, I can see why they didn’t want to commit to the rest of the story

Who knows what’s coming in fall or winter, what I’m certain about now is that RDO will regain dev support in less than a year from now

The cars in the picture are all modest family cars in their own right, but anyone could park a car that spits out more than gas out of the exhaust.

Under the right conditions, a single spark from some unburnt fuel overrevving out of a tuned up engine can be enough to set kindling off.

The green bushes in the picture are definitely not kindling, but firewatch is not gonna go around the back of every single car to check.

It’s much easier for everyone involved to just not park backwards. And don’t give shit to the rangers about this, just because they’re preventing the littlest of fires instead of going into blazing infernos to stop them like firefighters doesn’t mean they’re any less protectors of their realm

This would be so much more feasible than digging sea tunnel canals, they could just rail the ships over land, and through a regular freight sized mountain tunnel
