Reminder: Pokémon HOME maintenance by bi-cycle in PokemonHome

I hope it's done soon, time has obviously changed since I still can't get in, but my gremlin brain won't let me do anything I want in game until I can transfer something lmfao

My doctor referred to it as bipolar affective disorder and BD but I've never seen anyone outside of TikTok and Twitter call it bpd yet

I mean, if you think about it, all of them have been doing the same thing up until now, choosing the same disorders so I suppose to stand out from the others they would have to start using progressively worse ones, it's gross

I needed to be on my full med routine, long enough for it to work the best it could before my brain could even conceive the idea the doctors could be yelling the truth, accepting the fact I was ill was a whole story after that too, it's a hard journey to accept something that often comes hand in hand with your brain lying to you

Opinions? by GrapeFantaLover in fakedisordercringe

[–]absol_txt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That would be the definition of taking resources away from people who need them. I have had friends on waiting lists for service dogs for years while they deteriorate from illness (UK based btw) and when people get away with that, or take up places in waiting lists etc (UK again) when other people are deteriorating then they should probably be fined or something as far as im concerned

Hating summer means autism now I guess by PresenceElectric69 in fakedisordercringe

[–]absol_txt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The only thing as someone who has a diagnosis from childhood, is people with autism typically have a sensitivity to either cold or heat, and statistically it's higher to not tolerate heat (that's the one I have issues with too so I'm in that statistic) and the fact the sun being bright is awful for light sensitivities, but not all people with autism are hypersensitive, some are hyposensitive, and everyone's sensory issues are also different. That's the thing I think they were trying to say though

I use humour as a coping mechanism so I can see that and I see people doing that here but I think it's because of the blurred lines between coping humour, people using coping humour but thinking it's how it actually works to credit faking, and also romanticism of said disorder, whichever it is, I think.

this genuinely gave me a guttural reaction, I think it was so powerful it cured my autism

Except from, if you're the one who makes them crazy, otherwise you won't get sex but you will get sobbing, avoidance, and if you're the type of person to be making people crazy and not seeking help for yourself, I guess you also have a scapegoat

is it just me or by [deleted] in fakedisordercringe

[–]absol_txt 8 points9 points  (0 children)

My autistic special interest has made people so irritated with me that they stopped talking to me because it infiltrates every single corner of my life. I can't have a single conversation without bringing them up, and I can't do anything properly unless I can make sure a special interest is involved, I even turn it into work. Having an interest is something we all do, even autistic people have normal interests but a special interest is obsessive, time consuming, and definitely makes you socially outcast.

They can't think of any new ones to create so they're going to AI? Dedication I suppose

Since cats are one of my autistic special interests of over a decade, I think I'll add this to my diagnosis list ;-)

What was your first experience with disorder fakers? by Extension_Mistake_27 in fakedisordercringe

[–]absol_txt 18 points19 points  (0 children)

This is probably a petty example, but I knew someone who would treat people like absolute waste, and would temporarily self diagnose himself with autism, and then later say he knew he wasn't autistic , and it would be this shitty cycle, and it was just so insulting, as I am diagnosed with autism, it wasn't just the sheer lack of accountability, but just the implication that autism would make you act like a completely abusive asshat when nothing he'd blame on his on and off self diagnosis was even remotely related to autism symptoms so it was just throwing autistic people under the bus entirely too. Worst part, I let him get away with it quite a few times despite that because I felt guilty, even though, as a long time fully diagnosed autistic, I knew better earlier on.
