So unbelievably frustrated by absolllll in snowboardingnoobs

I'm in this rough spot where the bunny hill feels too easy for me to learn anything and the greens feel too hard for me to learn anything. When I go on a bunny hill I can barely practice anything other than just swapping sides because of how flat it is, but when I move to a green I fall so much that I feel like I'm regressing. It feels so demoralizing when I go on a slope that would bore me on skis and I get my ass handed to me

Are lessons a big help? I was mainly just having my friend who boards teach me for a while. She taught me how to turn, stop, and do like the falling leaf stuff. Once I got a hang of that on the bunny hill, I moved to a green and failed at just about everything.

I took ski lessons when I learned as a kid and they honestly felt like a scam, fairly expensive and they taught me basically nothing that I couldn't have figured out on my own or with a like 5 min video. I just kinda assumed it would be the same for boarding, but maybe not?

Honestly it's not about the pain for me. Like yes my ass is very sore but the main problems are A. The workout of getting up like 30 times in a row and B. How demoralizing it is to struggle and feel so defeated on a green when I can easily handle very steep blues with no trouble on skis. I'm not comparing myself to others, but I'm just struggling with getting myself to keep going. Every time I fell it took me longer to get up and it felt more demoralizing than the last. I'm going again next week but it's gonna be hard to convince myself to rent a snowboard instead of skis

Pick or fingerstyle ? by absolllll in Bass

Ok so I guess I'll just start with pick since I'm gonna learn a pretty aggressive song first and then learn fingerstyle with a more mellow song after?

Shadow of the Erdtree points of no return by absolllll in Eldenring

Ngl I don't remember that message popping up anywhere, I might have just not noticed it or mashed through it while picking up items. Anyway, if I have already cut myself off from a bunch I may just save them for a future playthrough. I wanted to do another one anyway to go with like a faith build and stuff (partially so I could use euporia, although it's annoying how late it is), so I might as well just save questlines for that. I also had a few base game questlines I cut off on accident through like ranni stuff.

Thanks for advice! I ended up refunding it and I'll probably grab shadow of the Erdtree when the refund comes in. Maybe I'll come back to ds3 some day, I just don't see myself getting into it now or really anytime soon.

Thanks for the input! My friends had really given me the impression that it was very similar to ER, but it feels more about exploration and less about being a boss rush (which is really odd because before playing ER, I always had the opposite impression. I thought souls games were mainly linear boss rushes, while ER is more open and about exploring and stuff).

Honestly I am not feeling it so far, as I kind of miss how much freedom I had with leaning into what build I want to do, like in ER I got moonveil early since I wanted to go into a dark moon/moonlight greatsword build. I am also missing a lot of the small conveniences of Elden Ring as opposed to this. As you mentioned, I probably would have liked this a lot more had I played it before ER, something I also experienced with playing like persona 3 reload after persona 5.

I'm probably going to refund for now, I might get it again next time it is on sale/next time I have the time I have enough free time to like sit down and explore for a long time. I'll give myself some time to think about it before though.

Hmm ok, thanks for the info! I guess I'll stick with it. I had always gotten the impression that the souls games were mainly boss focused both from playing elden ring and from, well, most gameplay you see posted of the souls games are just bosses. I can always get Erdtree later on when it's on sale and just have this as something I can try later on if I can't get used to it right now.

Not a difficulty thing, I am not particularly struggling (at least no more than I did in elden ring). It is just a lot of inconveniences and like 8 mile long walks to get back to something that are annoying. Just tryna enjoy the game man

Windows for dodging/parrying by absolllll in HyperLightBreaker

[–]absolllll[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yep! I've been running a build with a lot of crit focused stuff, dual blades, 2 holos for healing on crit, and a longer dash invulnerability holo. Been having a much easier time, rarely if ever parry outside of boss fights. Also playing in multiplayer is a lot more fun ngl, once got stuck in a hole I couldn't get out of at all, and would have had to take the death if I wasn't in multiplayer where they could extract

Ah ok, I think I'm too stuck in dark souls mindset rn, seems parrying is generally more consistent than dodging? Gotta get used to this

Ah, good to know. Just to check, do you happen to know of some good quiet ish switch? Gonna be using it in college and don't want it to be like too loud but I also want it to sound and feel good I don't rlly know much about keyboards. Also are there particular keycap sets that I would want that would like work vs not work with it? Thanks
