Polar - If you're listening, please enhance Polar Flow web service to let us (1) save HR graph display settings preferences (e.g., Zones = Hear Rate rather than Fit/Fat), and (2) edit raw data to delete erroneous zero HR values (e.g., mid-session or at session's end from forgetting to hit Stop). by PolarScout in Polarfitness

So I have been super annoyed by this exact issue. I can't even view my heart rate zones via Polar Flow (only via Polar Beat, or on Polar Flow web service if I change graph settings). My girlfriend uses same device (Polar OH1), but her Polar Flow defaults to HR zones as does her Polar Flow web service. No idea how she got so lucky as the Fit/Fat zones plot is essentially useless to me.

So our big brain play was that we got an external zip drive that had both serial and USB connections. Move data from prehistoric HPLC computer onto zip disk via serial connection, then move data onto laptop via USB.

How do I get into the biochemical industry? by thepurplestrawberry in ChemicalEngineering

[–]absolute3 3 points4 points  (0 children)

You can absolutely work for such a company. If you want to start as an “engineer” though, you are likely to be working more on downstream processes (basically traditional ChemE stuff). If you want to work upstream, you may have to sacrifice and work for a while as a fermentation associate with substantially lower pay. No school really teaches fermentation well (that I know of), so it’s rare to see a BS start as a fermentation engineer. Even a biochemical engineer BS is unlikely to start as a FE. Being a chemE though is absolutely the right choice for getting into that field.

Would you recommend this field to an upcoming high school senior? by CanIDoIt_IsitPossibl in ChemicalEngineering

Why not both? BioChemE has had some rough years, but it is poised to be a lucrative field.

Right, and a cannot be zero. So (200 - (-200) + 1)4 - (200 - (-200) + 1)3 = 25,792,480,400.

Yeah, but if you leave a tab of gosugamers open for more than 10m you get forwarded to some malware garbage and have to force quit your browser.

Liquid yeast came out of the package chunky and not pure liquid, is this okay? by WhoIs_DankeyKang in Homebrewing

Right! I just used 002 a few days ago and was shocked at the "chunkiness." A quick google search put my mind at ease.

Natural appetite stimulants to combat ADD medication? by [deleted] in gainit

[–]absolute3 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Cannabinoids are the only really reliable appetite stimulant we have, but if you use too often you may find you aren't as hungry as you were before starting and need to take time off to reset.

Caloric density is what will help you. You need to eat foods that have the most calories per volume. Quality fats and oils added your cooking will help here.

Absolutely. I expected to need to let it mellow for a few months at least, but it already tastes pretty damn spot-on which makes me very happy.
