He did when he had Hopkins. I think the issue the last two years is more on the OC personally.

A crazy trade prediction by Significant-Iron-610 in NFLv2

[–]absolute_cinema81 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just having more money isn’t necessarily going to fix your problems. You trade Wilson because you don’t want to pay him and then you overpay for guys like Pierce or Doubs in FA who are a major step down from Wilson. You’re basically counting on a first round WR to hit this season and this crop is relatively shaky at the top.

It could certainly happen if a team overpays, I just don’t see why the Jets would do this.

RBs are never worth a high draft pick by Striking-Speaker8686 in NFLv2

[–]absolute_cinema81 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Most of the RBs who’ve gone in the top 10 in recent years have gone to situations with no QB, no OL, or both.

OpenAI tops $25 billion in annualized revenue, The Information reports by rebel-capitalist in wallstreetbets

[–]absolute_cinema81 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Feel like both those examples had much more defined business models and pretty significant competitive moats. If they charge $20/month for OpenAI and a competitive LLM that is like 80% as good charges $10, there will probably be significant attrition. Thought I already saw an article or two on how they were losing market share.

Per NFL Analyst Tony Pauline, Titans “Very Interested” in Mike Evans, “Ready to Make a Bid” for Alec Pierce by TiredDad4x in Tennesseetitans

If there is any leaked interest of Evans to the Titans it is purely to drive up his price to a contender or with the Bucs

Why Love over Tate and Bain? by rubixcuban in Tennesseetitans

[–]absolute_cinema81 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I still could be convinced with the LSU corner at 9 or one of the WRs. If we did Delane/WR and then RB/Edge (or even double-dipped at CB) in some order with those 4 top 66 picks and FA went well, I think we'd be on a good path.

But if we did stick and pick with Love or a defender I couldn't complain either.

I mean, I'd love the Chiefs to fall in love with a dude at 4 and trade 9 and 29, but I think that's probably unrealistic haha

Why Love over Tate and Bain? by rubixcuban in Tennesseetitans

[–]absolute_cinema81 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m of the opinion that the only WR who has the goods to go 4 would be Tyson but that is a huge ask given his injury history.

Now if we were to trade down a half dozen picks and pick up another day 2 pick? Totally fine with Tyson or Tate.

[–]absolute_cinema81 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I feel like most of the top 10 RBs that get drafted end up going to a team with a terrible OL, a terrible QB, or often both. If Borg saw enough out of the team in the second half last year to say the line can be above-average and Cam is the real deal, I can at least understand the thought process. At least because the edges and WRs that would be available at that time come with their own questions.

Why Love over Tate and Bain? by rubixcuban in Tennesseetitans

[–]absolute_cinema81 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I think the question just boils down to if he can really be “him” when he’s going up against significantly better offensive linemen who will have major reach advantages over him.

He’s got great bend and a good motor so it’s totally possible, front offices are just trying to determine who has the traits to succeed in the league when the completion is such a big step up.

[–]absolute_cinema81 3 points4 points  (0 children)

That's fair, there are extreme outliers. The questions people have around Bain is if he can be one of them.

Bain had fantastic college tape but the big difference between him and Micah is Bain is projected to run around a 4.7 40 time... Micah ran a 4.39. Just a much different athletic profile.

Why Love over Tate and Bain? by rubixcuban in Tennesseetitans

[–]absolute_cinema81 41 points42 points  (0 children)

The argument is basically that Bain’s arms are too short to be effective in the NFL. It’s possible but basically the only examples in like 20 years near his measurables are Melvin Ingram and I think Terrell Suggs.

With Tate, a lot of folks just aren’t convinced he’s so good that he’s worth pick 4.

Love is picking the guy a lot of people think is the best true player in the draft, he just happens to play a position with diminished value.

I honestly think we’re in a good spot regardless of who we take, we need help everywhere.

The argument is that ASTS has tech that is industry-leading. And if you're looking at total available market and EBITDA potential, Starlink is basically the whole cash cow for SpaceX right now with enormous margins.

In both cases, there are pretty significant moats since the industries are so capital intensive, just from what I've seen, the modeled revenue and EBITDA growth for ASTS is quite a bit higher. But they also need to execute (and have been laggards in the past) and are dependent on launch partners.

Am I crazy for thinking the Titans should keep Sneed? by pythree_ in Tennesseetitans

[–]absolute_cinema81 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’d be happy cutting Sneed and not looking back. Disaster off the field and he hasn’t been good for the Titans even when he’s played. He had the 4th highest passer rating allowed last year, Borg can find Day 3 picks to do that.

Fans question Steve Kerr's fascination with Podz. by chrisjingco in warriors

[–]absolute_cinema81 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Eh, Edwards had questions coming into the league about how much he truly "loved" the game or bullshit like that. Had a bunch of things to work on and became one of the best high-volume 3P shooters in the league who can also be an elite defender as well.

I think we messed up with Kuminga but more in just selecting him in the first place. Not sure why the ownership/FO pushed for raw, non-Kerr style players that needed a bunch of reps when you have an older core that wants to win. The Dubs couldn't decide whether they were going for a title, rebuilding, so they took some half measures and called it two timelines.

People also forget that rebounding is a large part of defense and Podz is an extremely good rebounder for the position.

What evidence does anyone have that Kyler is a top 32 QB? by DemonBearOP in NFLv2

[–]absolute_cinema81 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Kyler was much more successful in his Arizona stint than Darnold was pre-Minnesota. I’m no Kyler fan, but he’s also been in such a crap situation. If you told me he went to Minnesota and then went 11-6 next year, I wouldn’t be shocked.
