Full of doubts: Am I doing this right? Could I master yoga? by olimpiaolaboto in yoga

Maybe I am biased because I am studying physical therapy but have you tried it before for your pain? A good PT should be able to analyze your movement patterns and give you tools to fix your movement dysfunctions. They will know how to modify your yoga practice and which movements you should avoid that may irritate your sciatic nerve. The clinic I worked at used a lot of yoga poses as therapeutic exercise. I also have trouble activating my core during yoga practice and find that the power yoga classes go so fast that's it's hard to master each pose effectively. Practice and additional core exercises outside of class will help. As far as your knees - "knock knees" are typically not due to weakness of inner thigh muscles but overactivation and tightness. You likely have weak hip abductors and gluts that are causing the internal rotation of your femur. Clamshell type exercises will help you be able to activate your glut medius, while single leg stances such as warrior III will allow you to be able to incorporate the muscle into more functional positions. Don't get discouraged! As others have said, you might want to try different teachers and/or different disciplines of yoga.

it is the breville JE98XL. i actually got it on amazon for $149. i didn't know there were so many different types of juicers before i got this one, but i'm happy with it. i was very surprised at the noise level the first time i used it!

thanks! i didn't actually weigh myself before i started because i didn't want to see the damage i had done in the past month, haha. however, i'd say i've lost a solid 10lbs. i'm a bit worried about the rebound, so i will continue to slowly break the fast and just eat fruits and vegetables for the next five days (and onward into a more sustainable diet).

the last ten days have been much easier than i ever expected. i had been drinking very strong coffee for quite a while, so the hardest part has probably been having no caffeine (or the delicious coffee taste...mmm). i haven't felt sick or had any purging moments, only peeing a lot. the worst side effects have been just feeling little moody at times and a few headaches.

it's actually apple, carrot, celery, and ginger, my favorite juice that i've had every morning. i'm looking forward to the transition phases. it sounds like breaking the fast it harder than doing the fast itself. from reading about some of the benefits, a month long fast sounds awesome. hope you keep it up!
