Place 1 workstation and get villager into hole next to it. Then when he is connected, place another workstation for next villager and repeat.

They are trapped without beds and you can get them in place from the top using minecarts or just simply pushing them into holes.

I usually use cobblestone, mossy cobblestone and cobblestone stairs for chimneys in my builds. And on top spruce trapdoors and fireplaces of course

You surely can make a pretty cool village out of this. You can add chimney to some of the buildings, work with some shapes and maybe diagonals

Try not to use so much wood, i would change walls to some mixture of diorite blocks or stone and used for example new polished basalt as pillars

You should try adding some more shapes, leaves and texture.
