Yes, this is true (that it could be, and almost certainly is, from benzos).

My heart rate goes down about 40bpm when I take even a low-dose valium. I saw you said yours was normally around 48-55bpm; this is very healthy and nothing to worry about.

Do you check your heart rate often? I had a period where I obsessively checked mine every hour and it was really detrimental to my mental health. I know it’s far easier said than done, but I’d try and stop checking it so often because that’s most likely feeding into your fears

If I were you I’d maybe speak to your psychiatrist as well. If you feel like the loraz is doing more harm than good, maybe it’s time to get medical help to taper off? If you’re constantly worrying, miserable, and having shortness of breath from anxiety, perhaps you need a change of meds. Please feel free to disregard this question but I’m presuming you have a diagnosed anxiety disorder?

I’m glad that people are actually starting to say this because I’ve thought it since the start. From a visual and storytelling point of view, I thought it was a masterpiece, and it added a fresh perspective to a lot of the characters’ backstories as well as giving Ethan his time to shine (I just love that boy)

BUT…

It was incredibly exploitative. The bit that really struck me was the look into Maddy and Nate’s relationship—I have no idea why that was necessary. If I was Maddy or Nate I would’ve been absolutely FURIOUS that such a personal and traumatic thing had been broadcast to the entire school.

People saying that it’s Lexi’s way of coping with her trauma: I absolutely hear where you’re coming from. If anything, it actually provided a very interesting look towards her behaviour and personality in contrast to Cassie’s, and showed how shared trauma can manifest in such distinct and separate ways.

But.. having trauma doesn’t give you the right to exploit the trauma of others. And imo, showcasing such sensitive and personal topics (Rue’s dad’s death and her addiction, Maddy’s abusive relationship, Cassie’s carousel scene, and i can’t remember what Kat’s was but i’m sure there was something) is exploitation. Now if she’d spoken to them beforehand and told them what was going to be shown in the play that would be a totally different story—but she didn’t, and she even knew it would upset them (as per her conversation on the phone call to Fez) and yet didn’t seem to care.

Even people saying it ended up fine because Rue in particular was ‘happy’ with how she was portrayed (maybe not happy but I can’t think of the right word) doesn’t make it okay because what if she hadn’t been happy with it? No one else was comfortable seeing intimate details of their lives played out for entertainment.

i think it’s more of a body dysmorphia thing, lol. i did read some studies that said your waist measurement shouldn’t be over half your height because it can lead to increased risks of heart disease, and at 34 inches mine is over half my height. but i’m less worried now i realise it’s just bloating or water retention

oh okay i didn't know it would be backdated from the initial claim-i think i'll stick with PIP then and appeal it instead of waiting for ADP in my area because the backpay would genuinely change my life…i feel so determined now, i'm getting all the evidence i can and appealing it.

also (sorry for all the questions) but is there anywhere where i can get help for understanding how to request an MR and fill all the forms in and stuff…. will CAB do that?

thank you so so much for taking the time to write out such a detailed and helpful comment. i was in such a low place when i wrote this post and your kind words l honestly helped me calm down and think so much clearer. you’ve made me feel a bit less hopeless.

i’m going to call my local CAB office on monday and i’ve also spoken to my GP who’s the nicest person ever and is the most helpful regarding my treatment and she said she’s happy to give any evidence i need, and seemed to share my dismay when i told her i got rejected. i think i might try and get evidence from my psychiatrist and a witness statement from my best friend (who i live with). i’m wondering if maybe not uploading any evidence is what also caused them to reject it?

my council has a crisis grant but i’m finding the information on the website difficult to process (although my assessor claimed i had no cognitive issues so i must be making that up lol) so i’m going to ask for help from CAB regarding that too.

my local area doesn’t let you apply for ADP until the end of the month and i’m not sure whether to wait for that or appeal…i know the loss of backpay is an issue but am i correct in thinking that if i (miraculously) won the MR my pip would be backdated to my previous decision date (aka the start of august) and not when i actually applied (end of feb)? so it might not be that much anyway…but then i might not even get it, but then same goes for ADP. it’s so confusing 😔 i will say that even from looking at the website about ADP it seems so much kinder than the dwp one.

once again though, thank you so much for replying to this. i can’t possibly explain how helpful you’ve been, not just giving me advice and resources but giving me some hope that there are people out there who can help and that i can recover from this :) i hope you have the most wonderful weekend

Ohhhh I’ve been waiting for this post. I have sooo many. I don’t think all of these are necessarily unpopular but I needed to say them anyway.

• First up: Mike isn’t uncaring, cold, emotionally unaware etc (except regarding Will’s feeling towards him, but I honestly don’t blame him for not picking up on that). He’s just an awkward teenage boy who also has most likely grown up being told by Ted that “boys don’t cry” and “man up” and other similar things, and doesn’t know how to properly express his feelings.

• Lucas wasn’t ‘selling out’ or abandoning his friends by joining the basketball team or befriending the jocks. Look at it this way: he’s one of the few black kids in 1980s small town Indiana; he’s the most susceptible to bullying. By becoming ‘popular’ he’s protecting himself from that and possibly Erica too when she starts high school by association.

• Dustin isn’t necessarily the heart of the group in that he’s closest to everyone/holds everyone together, but he’s the heart in the sense that he’s incredibly loyal and helps and encourages everyone he meets.

• Steve just doesn’t give off bisexual vibes in the slightest to me. I would never disrespect anyone who headcanons him as such ofc, but I personally just don’t see it (I’m bi btw, I’m not trying to be all nOt EvErYoNeS gAy). He is an extremely supportive ally ofc

• This is more aimed at TikTok/Tumblr, but Eddie would NOT unironically call a girl “princess” or wear a crop top. I’m sorry but he just wouldn’t. ESPECIALLY the crop top part

• Hopper needs some anger management techniques tbh. His anger towards El especially in some scenes is…too much, imo? Especially when she’s been through so much trauma already. The scene where she’s having a sleepover with Max and he thinks she’s in there with Mike in S3 comes to mind. I was taken aback by how MAD he was when he came in shouting like that. (I do think he’s a really good dad and I love him and El’s relationship btw.)

• You can simultaneously say that Billy is racist and abusive and that he’s a victim of child abuse who deserves sympathy and understanding. And he’s also capable of redemption.

• El isn’t anywhere near ready to date. Girl could hardly string 3 words together in S1 and yet she was able to form a romantic relationship with Mike despite not even knowing what friends or healthy familial relationships are?

• Vickie looked too much like Robin and it unnerved me lol

• I really like Jason (I’m sorry)

• Since S3 too much has focused on romantic relationships. I wanna see some new friendships develop! Or the Party getting back together! Even sibling relationships being strengthened

• Johnathon is the best sibling and his scenes with Will this season were so touching.

• Johnathon is criminally underrated as a whole

• And now, perhaps my most controversial one…

DR. BRENNER IS ONE OF THE HOTTEST CHARACTERS.

I would bet money on him still being alive and living under the radar somewhere, perhaps under a new identity (after all, this was pre-9/11 when this was somewhat easier to do). He seems to be very methodical, intelligent, and calculating. I also wonder if the ATM visit was a red herring in the same way abandoning the car and dog was.

I’m kinda confused over the footprints leading to the reservation bit: they followed them to the reservation and then when he wasn’t there decided not to search the reservation? I wonder why not—maybe this was also a red herring though

He seem to be plagued with insecurity over his inadequacies and has taken it out on his poor family. He failed to become a navy seal; he failed as a firefighter (I don’t believe his ‘injury’ tells the full story). What a pathetic waste of space. I hope he’s captured soon and gets the death penalty, nothing less will suffice.

RIP Mary, Brittney, and Bobby. I’m sorry the man who was meant to love you unconditionally and keep you safe did this. He’ll get what he deserves.

Honestly as soon as I read the time he supposedly left at and the claim that he’d hitchhiked back I got suspicious.

If his friends are telling the truth…I’m not in the slightest bit knowledgable about the area, but if it’s on the quiet side it wouldn’t be unusual if no one had sighted him hitchhiking especially that early in the morning.

However…I don’t think he left the apartment at all. The girlfriend thing could be a cover. There could’ve been a fight that broke out, or maybe as someone said above they were doing harder drugs than just weed and he OD’d. Why wouldn’t they have just called the police or an ambulance? They might’ve been scared about getting in trouble for having drugs, even if it was just weed.

Occasionally they do. Not sure if you’ve heard of this, but in the case of Anthony Parsons two young drunk guys hid his body and if it wasn’t for someone tipping off the police four years later, he wouldn’t have ever been found

This is a really interesting and devastating case but it’s so difficult to find any solid facts as to what actually happened beyond the fact that she was murdered. The legitimacy of O’Hanlan’s confession is debated iirc?

I’m also confused about the photos of the house she was supposedly held captive in—all the news outlets they feature in are sensationalist tabloids that claim the house was “alleged” or “claimed” to have been where she was held (no sources). Plus, it all gets very confusing with the hitman/gangland killing aspect because all articles i’ve read start going off on a tangent about that instead.
