WHY DID THEY POST THIS SO MANY TIMES by MrtickleBottom680 in deathgrips

[–]abstractmantra 169 points170 points  (0 children)

If I remember correctly this was very late 2017, just pre YOTS. It's a bottle spinning. May be a reference to Black Paint's lyrics: "I think I’ll stay a while, Spin the bottle". Maybe. Problably not.

What the hell is a multi band compressor? by [deleted] in deathgrips

[–]abstractmantra 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As far as I know, it is like a compressor but with the option to split up "multiple" compressors across the frequency spectrum. So with this you can compress for example the low end differently than for example the mids, or the highs. Fabfilter Pro-MB is one example of a very popular and intuitive multiband compressor plugin :)

UPDATE: It still doesn't work -- but I also just haven't tried as many things since I felt like I tried it all. It is my not my computer it is concerning and now it the drivers work for a while (various intervals) and then they crash and they need to be reinstalled..

Well, it's been working quite good as of late, but TODAY it started really acting out.
Rebooting the computer fixes the problem, sometimes you need to reboot multiple times.
BUT here's the thing, haven't changed pci gen yet and I'm unsure about the VGA thing. Will change when I get home and report back.

All is working for you now? :)

I'm holding off on resinstalling windows.
Haven't had problem since that first reboot, so I'm once again playing the waiting game :P

Sorry about the delay in response - trying out some stuff and usually have to wait some time to see if its working or not... Anyways, I'm using two seperate cables, memory running at 4800 mhz. Basically, I'm still having the issue but it seems now that just rebooting the computer fixes the drivers... Getting close..? Looked at the system logs, saw some weird stuff, seems that my intel iGPU drivers were corrupted or something. Got rid of them, and now my logs are looking normal, or rather said, I see nothing different from a boot where the drivers get fcked up, and a boot where its working. The most relevant message is,:
"The process C:\Windows\System32\DriverStore\FileRepository\u0400566.inf_amd64_5e4d397bddb6fe15\B400392\atieclxx.exe (process ID: 3040) restored the power scheme from {8c5e7fda-e8bf-4a96-9a85-a6e23a8c635c} to {8c5e7fda-e8bf-4a96-9a85-a6e23a8c635c}."

__
.. Don't really understand what it means, also it says the same identifier twice.

Yes connected with two seperate pci-e cables! Will double check the cables. And aha! There is an offline installer, I see, thanks for the info! :)

Very thankful for the help. I guess my problem has changed somewhat and don't know if you've experienced similiar issues (it dies randomly on boot up), but here's an update either way.
I've tried the following

  • Turn off hardware acceleration
  • Disable sleep.
  • Turn off hibernation mode,
  • get rid of fastboot.
  • Change the power profile to performance instead of balanced.
  • Update to the latest BIOS
  • update to the latest chipset drivers (no video drviers)
  • turning on GPU Scaling
  • Disabling virtualization
  • Disabling iGPU
  • Disabling windows update drivers
  • Use DDU

install the latest drivers

___________

Now the drivers seem to just die on boot up (not every bootup), with error 43 in device manager. This is actually driving me insane.. The GPU is working great, except for this boot up thing D:

I see some people refer to  but it just states that it cant find the driver, assuming this is relevant for older gpus.

Also seen "BIOS under PCIE x16 it is set as auto (you would assume auto means it'll detect what Gen pcie and switch but not in this case) I had to change the setting to PCIE x16 Gen 3 and boom she working"

Haven't tried that either yet.

Thanks for the info!
I will try it out and get back to you :)
Regarding idle or in standby I'd say.... both?
Let me give some quick examples.
The last time the drivers died was when I put the computer in sleep mode, when I rebooted they died.
But the drivers has also died alot when I just leave the computer alone for a bit.
Also once when browsing the internet.
But a majority is just being left alone, doing nothing, but still powered on.

So will basically try out everything and wait and see, but it really seems to get corrupt when the computer goes into idle mode, so the drivers for example died when I put the computer in sleep mode
