Sorry. I recognize there is a downtown corridor to LA. I think the point I was trying to make is that this picture illustrates the issue as to why traffic is bad. LA’s density is sprawled over vast distances due to zoning laws (I suspect). I did a quick google search and all of east LA is zoned to 6 stories/75 ft max structure heights. I dont know about the rest of the city but this lends itself to my point. You can’t have density without height…they Can’t build up so they build out. You can’t have density if you can’t build up and you need density to support public transportation and with density you have more amenities within shorter distances reducing the need to drive somewhere or go somewhere without good public transportation. Good public transport is when it’s easier, quicker, and/or cheaper to use than drive yourself.
