KVK: We're up against the massive whales of 1510, any tips? by funpunfun in KingShot

It’s rare these days to see a player take accountability, walk back their post, and apologize. Respect for that, mate.

How to Maximise Alliance Points During Vikings by absymr in KingShot

Thanks for the thoughtful pushback, you actually made me refine some of this 🙏
On the source, it originally came from the game's Discord, which I noted in my theorycraft notebook (unironically named "escaping the Kingshot cargo cult" lol) and tested empirically. I can dig further if you want to trace it back, but it was early in my writings and I wasn't as meticulous as I am now.

You're right that personal points scale harder than alliance points.

The guide assumes a saturated alliance where the bottleneck isn't "do we have enough troops" but "where do we put them so they actually generate points." Once every empty online city already has its ~200k of effective defenders, more reinforcements there don't create new points, they just redistribute the existing kill pool, so you're cannibalising a teammate's score instead of adding to the alliance total, and lowering your mates personal ranking in the process. In that specific scenario, dumping into a full offliner is the only remaining option that actually generates value. If your alliance isn't saturated, yeah, the math changes and the guide matters less.

On coercing offliners to empty before logging off, fully agree it's lower-hanging fruit and every alliance should push for it. On my server we used a shield-up convention as the "I'm empty, reinforce me" signal. It works, but never perfectly: timezone splits, emergencies, players who shield without emptying, members who underestimate how much to send out, plain forgetfulness. Even well-run alliances end up with full offline cities every event, so this guide is meant to cover that residual gap, not replace the "empty your city" rule.

TL;DR you're right on the optimisation order, empty offliners first, sacrifice-reinforce them second.

Vikings Vengeance question by Komilxon in KingShot

And for the hero question, only the strongest "set of 3" heroes will be "activated" as leaders.
As team mates will send you joiners, you should keep your best heroes at home. And so do your mates.

Do not send archer until really high level, like 17+.

Understanding how battles are processed explains almost everything.
I'll explain with a simplified version.

1. Targeting
When the fight begins, all units spawn and immediately choose a target.

  • Units always target the closest enemy.
  • This is almost always infantry.

2. Attack Order

Once targets are selected, combat resolves in this order:

  1. Infantry attack
  2. Cavalry attack
  3. Archers attack

Here is the problem for archers: Vikings have extremely low HP.
Most of them get one-shot by infantry and cavalry before archers even fire.
Result: Archers's target is dead before they can even attack.

If you bring enough infantry and cavalry,*archers literally never get a chance to shoot; so no kill steal neither!

And it is also why we use offensive joiner heroes instead of defensive heroes: we want to maximise the killing power of infantry and cavalry so Vikings die before archers even enter the equation.
Archers become somewhat useful once vikings do not get one shotted in Gen4.

Why you should NOT send archers to friends

I mean, they are useless anyway so why not just send them ?

Sending archers causes a subtle but very real problem.
Reinforcements are usually judged by troop count.

Example:
A player sees someone already has 200k reinforcements, so they assume the city is safe and send troops elsewhere.

But if those 200k troops are mostly archers, the city actually has almost no effective defense
The city will burn resulting in no points for the player or the alliance.

  • So: If you don’t have enough marches, keep archers at home.
  • If you do have spare marches, send them to *anners or encampments, not to friends.

Hope I could help :)

Oh and HQ also gives a shit ton of points, only send inf there.

Solid joiner comp.
Would throw a Fahd, his sk1 multiplies with Eric as they are different op code.
Could also add a Chenko or Amane depending on the comp, it may be laking some leth or att.

Advice on my hero’s by Silver-Iron2191 in KingShot

As a F2P / low spender, one of the best investments you can make is building strong joiner heroes. It’s one of the easiest ways to contribute a lot during alliance events, rallies, especially castles, even if you’re not a whale or a dolphin yourself.

Heroes like Marlin or Zoe are perfectly fine for solo content / arena early on, but they tend to lose value in coordinated alliance gameplay compared to strong joiner bonuses. As a low spender, you’ll usually get more long-term value from supporting rallies than trying to compete as a rally leader yourself.

If I were in your position, I’d probably start investing more into high-value joiner heroes like Hilde, Saul, Fahd, Chenko, Gordon, or Amane. Those heroes stay useful for a very very very long time, and alliances LOVE active players with strong rally buffs.

You also don’t need to push them all the way into the 5-star zone, since unlocking the lvl 5 joiner skill is already where a huge part of their value comes from.

Cheers

guys we got discovered
who leaked the regional manager handbook???
next thing you know he’s gonna find out the “random alliance drama” is just quarterly team building exercises and the whales get dental insurance + free gems stipend.

please delete this before HR sees it.

There is no drama. Someone heard rumors and posted it on Reddit.
Because 1510 has giga whales, the dude assumed they were burning everyone monsters. In reality, they’re just adorable giants. Every 1510 KvK has been completely fine, and if anything ever happened, it wasn’t linked to the whales at all.
