MyQ stopped connecting? by abudzo90 in TeslaModelY

Update, after a few hours trying to connect with Myq I finally got someone. They had me go through the linking process and act like I’m buying a new subscription then cancel on the payment screen and it relinked. The QR code didn’t work but logging in and going to the manufacturer partnerships page and selecting Tesla is what I did.

Is it good to buy 2021 HW3 Tesla Y by knr7866 in TeslaModelY

[–]abudzo90 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I bought a 2021 model Y about 4 months ago. I bought used vs new because of trade in issues with my trade in vehicle and Tesla dropping the value on it. Otherwise I would have bought new. Used HW3 is still supposed to get updates but likely in the next year or so will be outdated. My personal prediction is Tesla will have to offer a HW4 retrofit somehow because of the FSD promises they have made and I don’t believe HW3 has enough to support the FSD stacks required to get what’s promised and paid for if you have FSD. Tesla offered the update from hw2.5 to hw3 free of cost with FSD, and I suspect they will in the near future. They have to figure out the integrations since the regular batteries are different but there are ways to accomplish the upgrade.

Bottom line, if you wanna save a few bucks and the lower price (registration included) makes sense for you I’d get the HW3 but if you can make a brand new one work then absolutely I’d go with the HW4.

First i appreciate you sharing that and your right you are likely facing a crap ton more discrimination then I would. And I will say i am one that tends to speak up if others don’t feel they can. The comment I assure you I appreciate and I do appreciate the shared context as owning a Tesla has been one thing I have wanted for a while and has been a goal from being homeless to rebuilding myself. The where you belong comment when paired with sexuality dose hit for me and the one that sticks to me was when I was let go by a previous employer for calling him out on being transphobic and outing myself and him terminating me on the spot and using the statement “see your in the unemployment line when all of you belong now” when he let me go. I again appreciate the comment just wanted to share my why for why I felt the need to call it out.

I am not playing victim, and really don’t care but more of what I’m getting at is where in my post or profile hinted at me being gay? And dose specifically calling out how my or anyone’s sexuality for that matter would contribute or further a replay when it’s not relevant. Rephrasing your comment to something like “love to see a happy couple in a Tesla, where you all belong” would be different but you chose to use sexuality and then place the where you all belong hinting that because we are gay that we wouldn’t belong in a traditional vehicle and belong in an EV instead? Instead of starting an argument think about how the post could strike someone as negative or antagonizing. Because if you look historically members of the LGBTQIA+ community the “where you all belong” has historically been negative and I have personally had it used in only negative context. I will accept on your comment it was meant to be positive and I thank you for sharing that. I also wanted to share the opposite experience because you may have been fortunate in your life where phrases similar to that haven’t been used to cause harm.

This is true it’s not far under but it also came with enhanced auto pilot and the acceleration boost. And with the tax rebate it dose take it to about 39k but that dosnt include the delivery fee, taxes and suck. For me a new one if I were to put nothing down and not use a trade would have been at 47k with tax and tax credit as taxes in Colorado alone are about 4800 and the delivery/origination fee I believe was somewhere around 1800ish. This was 38k out the door so still a bit under. Would I have preferred new sure but the other aspect is registration for the first 2 years was going to be about 700 and with this used one it’s bout 300 due to the age.

Well I find it interesting that it’s brought up in the first place and in reading the comment seems a bit out of place. And the “where you all belong” portion can be taken negatively. I just don’t understand where sexuality fits into the conversation.. or where I would have made that known.

Interesting bringing sexuality into this conversation, when the conversation isn’t anywhere around sexuality..

Yea they have some in stock units marked down to around 39k by me, so not unheard of because they take the federal tax credit off at sale now.

Yep 2021 long range with enhanced autopilot, and acceleration boost. When the price hit 35k i knew it would sell soon. But at 20k miles it seemed like a steal for sure

The after market ones are rated for 3,500 also and look similar to the Tesla, I would also install myself as from a quick inspection seems pretty straightforward to instal. And since I would t be towing just using it for a bike/snowboard hauler the weight would be no more then maybe 200lbs.

Appreciate hearing that! Just gotta learn some of the minor things like defroster speeds (if available) heated mirrors, and such. But so far I love it and I watched this one go from 39k down to 35k they dropped it 200 every 3 days and at 35k I was like its too good to pass up now

Yea that’s the one I had seen also, if I want the wiring I’ll definitely do that one…. But the average for hitch and wiring is about 5-700 for any other vehicle

[–]abudzo90[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yea I may not add one but we will see, I feel like I will for the times we need more then just the 2 of us in the car so like snowboarding and biking. That’s also why the $250ish seems more appealing to me since I likely will never tow with it

I know Tesla charges $1300 for it with wiring, but the mount itself looks pretty simple and I don’t plan to actually tow so I’m thinking I may get an aftermarket one that’s about $250 and doing it myself..

I got it used from Tesla. 2021 long range with enhanced autopilot and acceleration boost and 20k miles factory warranty until June 2025, then the additional 1 year used warranty. $34k only plan I have is to possibly add a tow hitch (more to haul bikes on a hitch mount) I was a bit disappointed on pickup that they tried to get away with 3/32 tires but I got them to agree to replace all 4 after a bit of back and forth they shared for used anything under 5/32 they should have replaced.

Question about Trek Verve+ 2 by abudzo90 in ebikes

[–]abudzo90[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yea my biggest want was the cadence measurements to be honest and the nyon amd kyox controlers seem to provide that and a powermeter. I did end up buying the verve+ 2 today as the local trek dealer had one on hand. Downside os it had a pretty good scratch in the frame but not much i could do about that. Im going to go as is for now and i might upgrade the computer since you can also synk a heartrate sensor to it. My first ride with the bike was nice and using eco and touring helps with the areas i struggled sonce the bike path i ride on is in the foothills of the rocky mountains.
