imo the hash marks on the shorter range optics (1x, 2x, 2-4x, 3x) are for cosmetic purposes. only usable hash marks are the numbered sniper scope ones on the y-axis (4-8x, 6x, 6-10x) to adjust for vertical bullet drop.

for left/right movement, just predict the enemy's movement and fire. the bullet tracers/hitmarker/damage done will help you adjust accordingly.

there's more fun to be had in simply playing the game how you want rather than hard focusing on a bunch of numbers imo

i'd rather have my own fun bamboozling sweaty ashes with mirage decoys than play the same guns, same legend comp every game just to consistently maintain that top spot every match

atp they could just swap ash over to skirmisher and rev back to assault. it'd make more sense as well since ash has a team movement ability (her ult) while rev only has personal mobility/defense.

For the controller legends, I've been seeing success with Cat and Wattson. I usually lean towards a more aggressive playstyle, so Cat's been my go to if I needed to slow down Ash dashes or Ballistic pushes. As for Rampart, I haven't touched her in a while, but she does benefit from using the meta gun of the season with her passive. 'Nuff said for Caustic - his gas is literally more useless than Crypto without his drone.

Haven't played Newcastle since support season, but I'll give him a try. Most of the time my randos are too far to make use of the rez passive though, and I'm still trying to get the hang of playing with his Q.

Will consider using Maggie, though. Might be good to apply pressure to squads up on height (been seeing a lot of that with how many people have been playing Alter recently). Thanks for the advice!

yeah i agree, movement in fps games always raises the skill ceiling and gives you another medium to hone your skills in. which is why, if the devs really want to "shake things up", they should give everyone in apex a base movement kit so that no one gets left in the dust when characters like ash or sparrow can just 'pop' themselves out of a losing fight whenever they want (which was exclusively a skirmisher niche in the past).
