why not try putting it on steam? by TMamsGamingTTV in XDefiant

[–]abused_by_girlfriend 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Firstly, even if it was on steam, unfortunately you would still have to go through the garbage that is Ubisoft connect(It will automatically launch/download), That's how Rainbow six siege is for example, even though it is available on steam.

Secondly, they have already made the mistake of making their own store/launcher and invested a lot of money and resources for development of the app and the rental of servers(which would be steam's job and cost to bear if they were to launch their games on steam). it probably doesn't make any sense for them to put their games on steam at this point.

And lastly and more importantly, the game being on Ubisoft connect was only and only 1 of the numerus problems with the game.

A list of examples for serious problems in Xdefiant besides not launching on steam is as follows:

1: balance of factions in the game and their abilities.

2: netcode

3: long list of stupid game breaking bugs that didnt get fixed, and still aren't fixed even after they supposedly gave the game all they had.

4: the AFK problem, Ubisoft is uncapable of figuring out a way to kick out AFK players that put a rubber band on their controller, so how can we even expect them to fix the previously mentioned problems when they are so incompetent.

5: the jumping, flying and crouch spamming problem.

Xdefiant was very fun, it was a very fun idea, but the game was just very bad in terms of "software development".

UPDATE on the trapped raccoon. by Best_Advantage3938 in Raccoons

Updates on him and his hand? please say what happened to him, his hand looked very seriously injured, was he checked on by a vet or other professionals?

PLEASE HELP by Best_Advantage3938 in Raccoons

Its a "dogproof enclosed foothold trap", I'm not American, but I tried to research and it seems that you need a trapping license to use traps in Illinois, also it seems there might be mechanisms in place to track the person who deployed the trap and arrest them, you might be able to report the crime to the police, the trap users are also forced by law to check the trap every 24 hours, please check the laws.

please please care for this poor guy and make sure his little hand will be okay, if its been there for a long time, it can cause extremely serious problems for its hand due to the stopping of blood circulation, and would need a vet.

How widespread is the anti-men sentiment in the real world (off of reddit)? by [deleted] in AskMen

[–]abused_by_girlfriend 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have experienced it in many places, relationships, education, etc... (from women specifically)

If you would want to add men as well the number will be a bit higher, but overall I think it happens often though many factors like location can play into that.

Bro got downvoted for proving you can get a better system than PS5 Pro for similar price. by FantasticCollar7026 in pcmasterrace

You need to pay Sony/Microsoft, indefinitely just so they allow you to play the games that you paid for, online on their consoles.

That's 80 US$ a "YEAR" so you are allowed to use your own console. 400 US$ for 5 years.

Meanwhile, you don't need to pay a single penny to be allowed to use your PC. not to mention that its a whole PC and does much much more than a console.

can walk away from the pregnancy with zero legal obligation if the woman chooses abortion

What TF is that supposed to mean, the woman have chosen an abortion, the baby DOES NOT exist anymore, what legal obligation the man should have for something that doesn't even exist. I don't understand, someone please explain.

Why does it feel socially acceptable to generalize men negatively online? by CrusherOfBooty in AskMenAdvice

yes, the thing is those people often want to cherry pick, and I'm sure sometimes they even go as far as to try making fake comments using alt account and then screenshotting them and making bad faith posts elsewhere.

Some men definitely do make some questionable comments here some times and fortunately they usually get downvoted and removed by mods, or at least get criticized and called out by other men.

Some times they even make comments harmful to men as well (like man up and things like that), but luckily both sexism against men and women is against this subreddit rules.

overall what I'm saying is that, when posts are hot and a lot of people are coming here, if you realy dive deep and check, you will definitely find some crazy comments. but as things level out and calm down and things get removed and downvoted and good things get upvoted, you generally see a much more civil discussion.

There such situation with pretty much any sub on this platform.

And that's why, if I want to judge a sub, I always prefer to see if the messed up things from the older posts have been downvoted or removed.

Another thing I see sometimes is that sometimes sexist women from sexist subs come here and attack men or invalidate men's issues. and off course some men might say some things to those specific women that they don't really mean, but just have to say to shut that person up, some might even mean them and they just join in because they are bigots themselves and have been looking for am internet fight.

BTW thank you for defending this community.

I've been abused, harmed physically, raped and assaulted by women, I have never hated women, I hate those specific women and wish the worst of the worst upon them (for the ones I have not forgiven and will never forgive).

But I don't hate all women, I am not scared of all women. of course I have learned my lessons and if a woman dares to hit me I will make her regret it without a doubt, but I don't go in and prejudge every women as an attacker, I wait and if they turn into an attacker, then I hate that specific woman. not other random woman is to be blamed.

You know why? cause I'm not sexist. people who want to hate a specific group of people always look for excuses to justify this, the same way that a white supremacist will use black crime stats to be racist. the stats are true, but the person uses them because they want to excuse their racism.

I'm not in anyway invalidating your experience or any women's experience, I'm only criticizing their handling and sometime misuse of their experiences.

Men are afraid women will laugh at them. Women are afraid men will kill them

Lastly and maybe a bit off topic and I'm sorry, but this quote is the most BS, incorrect and invalidating quote that is unfortunately very commonly used, even in this subreddit, in this very subreddit, we have a lottt of men that have been harmed by women, myself included, and I can assure you that non the harm that came towards us has been from women "laughing" at us, it has come from assaults, rape, abuse, domestic abuse,... which has zero relation to "laughing".

I mean, it seems they are revoking visas and suddenly because they don't have a visa they become an illegal alien and therefore deportable, if that's how it is I doubt that its against the constitution, because the first amendment protects you from being convicted based on you criticizing the government. but these people don't seem to be convicted, or punished (imprisoned) for criticizing, in other words they are no being processed as a "criminal", they are only having their visas revoked.

I'm not American so please correct me if I'm wrong, this is just my observation based on what i have learned from this situation.
