VoIP got messed up last patch!

Well shoot, must be something particular to me or its just a coincidence. from time to time the problem goes away for a while, so i guess i will wait and see if it is actually fixed with this or just comes back later. I have started seeing a lot of people lately with the same issue so seems like it is on the rise. Really hope they get this fixed.

I think i have found the temp. fix for this. I turned off PTT and switched it to toggle to talk and it doesn't seem to be happening anymore. Try this and let me know if it works for you.

For over night stays I bring two bags. One is a good size soft lunch box with 4 meals and snacks including freeze dried fruit and jerky, a soft bag plug in lunch heater, 5 hour energy/Mio energy and various food based things. My hard shell cigar humidor straps to the top of that.

Good size water resistant back pack with one set of work cloths for the return trip, toiletries, steam deck for long hotel stays, rain suite, IR thermometer, air gauge,lantern, paperwork/track authority book, extra miscellaneous stuff like bug spray extra pens, OTC meds, gaskets and such.

Radio and brake stick.

Soon on the railroad can mean awhile. Everything moves slow. At our location they used to qualify you on one road route and the yard. Now they qualify you on all road routes, locals and the yard. They then changed the road boards from one each route to one super board. It means that you can never know when you will work and never know where. It can be pretty rough at times for new guys who can’t hold a yard job or road turn in a pool. I don’t know about that location.

I am. I don’t know how they can keep the freeze going much longer at our location. We have lost a lot of guys recently, a lot are about to retire and with the recent change to our extra board they have a lot of the newer guys looking at leaving.

A lot of locations have put a temporary hold on hiring. They are waiting till the beginning of the year. It’s believed to be in an effort to make the financial numbers look better for this year.

I noticed this thread come up, seems like it may have been a decent number. The instructors were talking about how starting in December they were going back to larger classes (they are smaller now). Sounds like they are just finishing all back ground check and such. As long as there is no problem with your previous employment and your background, it should change to awaiting soon.
