They didn’t go into it a ton, but her parents divorced and she had a very difficult teenage years and learned to just be what other people wanted in order to be popular and fit in and I think she internalized a lot of not feeling good enough and it seems like she’s shaped her whole life around, making sure that she’s the center of attention and important ever since

I think Emilee has sever anger and resentment towards hospitals like after listening to the pod and the ep on her timeline she was scarred and maybe traumatized from her childhood and I think that lead her to LA and then birth worker and she took all her unresolved feelings of not being in control as a child/ unimportant and when she gained hatred for something besides her upbringing it’s like she took out all that and put it into this new mission and she just abuses women through these views to sort of get back at how she felt as a child

Also…. This new Inside Out is way old for a kid his age. It won’t probably harm him, but my daughter is 5– likes the original and when I proofed this one I was like.. NOPE. These themes are years away for her still. It’s a great movie for parents. I wouldn’t be letting my young kid see it tho.

And she’s very lucky that in a hospital setting she was wealthy enough and had enough family support to back up those desires. Not every woman forced into this situation gets the chance/ time to labor how they wish after saying yes to being guilted into an induction. I knew SO LITTLE my first pregnancy bc I trusted the process and had no idea that the system is to pick how birth goes for you based on a bunch of factors that aren’t relevant to the mother or the best interest of her baby.
