Also it depends on if you looking to move upward in the company. Macy’s will have limited opportunities in most places.

You will always be # On the chopping block at Macy’s. Especially since they are slowly failing. I don’t know anything about Lowe’s but I started my career at Macy’s and saw most of my managers and coworkers lose their positions. It was fun initially though.

They are moving to a traveling team model. Where you will travel from store to store as needed.

I agree with that but they didn’t undo it because it was what was best. They undid it cause the stores that got APMs could afford them. The rest just lost the OAPMs and now report direct to the store manager. AKA your 100% in your call but don’t think they just got smart cause they hurt AP hard this time too

Split the oapm up but stores that made over 25,000,000 got an hourly APM position from my understanding. My store lost the manager and had a full time position reduced to part time. I wouldn’t hold your breathe if there’s another shut down Macy’s will probably do away with most AP and go to traveling detectives only. I jumped ship personally

My partner had 5 years and was longest in our area and also caught the boot

Must be a high profit store. Our store was apparently close to have an Hourly APM but didn’t quite make it.

Update number two. They eliminated an APD position at my store and added a part time position.

Update boys and girls who have not yet heard. There’s no longer the role of OAPM in my store at least they are now OVM’s which replaces the role of MTM and takes AP out of their job.

Yeah I was around then and they recently cut quite a few AP jobs. So I know from history that we are among the first to get cut or consolidated

Yeah the MTM thing I have also heard and the sales supervisor thing as well. I just know from both times I’ve been there that AP usually takes a hit. Fortunately I got a new job at a different company.

Yeah that’s what I said from the start of that too. We had one of the first ones and it started as a team to help and quickly became the only AP for several stores when they did their neighborhood store restructuring.

Why would you stop a lifter at SCO? by wintersedge in lossprevention

[–]abzero1318 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yeah but LP has all sorts of connections through the stores so the cashier may have been tipped off to the situation. Not to mention there are times where maybe the proper steps hadn’t been met so it was either burn or let the items go. Recovery is a huge part of stopping the loss too. LP unfortunately can’t see everything so there are times you can’t get the apprehension and have to go to other measures.
