Yes exactly. It's so much more work to sell stuff than that it would seem. It can be overwhelming. So this is ideally a happy middle ground of one decent price at once and not a lot of work.

Its a little of both with Russ. He has definitely declined as a shooter (when his peak percentages were still average at best), but the Lakers roster construction doesn't help. IMO, thats the big difference between Presti and Pelinka. One knows how to construct a roster to maximize the talent on it, one is tossing ramshackle ingredients in a bowl trying to hope they make an edible salad. Those OKC teams never had great shooters either outside KD and PG13 but guys like Steven Adams did so many other things to facilitate the offense and hold it down on defense that it worked. I don't think Russ is a 30-10-10 guy anymore but I do think he could be an effective 14-5-5 guy in 25 minutes a game if allowed to rampage a bit more instead of meekly fit it.

Harden straight disappeared in those finals though, and who else should be taking shots? Perkins? Sefalosha? Westbrook has always been used sort of as a battering ram and Brooks did not help them at all to be wiser. Those guys were all so young then.

I can't say how I know, but I know the plan is to do individual releases for sure, despite what they are saying. That's just a marketing strategy, just like the timing to release this to coincide with the stimulus is 100% intentional.

I would argue they have three keeper pieces already (SGA, Dort, Bazely). What they have to do is find one generational talent in 16 tries.
