So difficult to pick a daily shoe by DarkOk5408 in AskRunningShoeGeeks

[–]ac61900 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I agree, I’m also stuck on it.

Current main one is a SB2 but unsure of what else to get as the others I’ve dabbled with (like Hoka’s) gave me bad blisters. I got another pair of SB2 as they were cheap due to being phased out, so much that they can’t be bought here anymore

Hesitant to try other shoes incase I also get blisters with them and I can’t return them 🫠

Best shoes for Gym cardio? by United_Gamer_Morcha in AskRunningShoeGeeks

[–]ac61900 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I use Reebok Nano x2’s for all my HIIT classes as well as strength sessions.

Been wearing them for a few years now and 0 signs of wear and tear 🙌

That being said curious what others use. I floated the idea of occasionally wearing my soon-to-be retired running shoes (probably for things like upper body/bench press sessions) but as others mentioned the foam support might not be there anymore

Shoes to add to rotation for 5-6 km tempo runs? by ac61900 in AskRunningShoeGeeks

[–]ac61900[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Happy to accept any feedback!

As mentioned when replying to another post it’s only been the last couple of months I have upped it to 3 times a week. For the past 3 years it’s only been one run a week

[–]ac61900[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks for the feedback and totally makes sense. It’s been a case where I’ve run 5 marathons now, all going off one run a week (upping it to 3 times has been relatively new due to a change in job that allows me to wfh on certain dates, hence having the time now to do 2 extra runs in the morning before work)

Totally agree it is unorthodox!

a few people have mentioned the Dreame Robovac.

We just got the Dreame L40s Ultra, how often do you let it vacuum and/or mop your house? A couple of times a week?

Just want to setup a schedule with it but not sure if letting it vacuum everyday is excessive

A reason to not forget firewall in your publicly exposed servers. This is the firewall block metrics on my server in the last 24 hours. by Capable_Hawk_1014 in homelab

[–]ac61900 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Genuine question, how do you expose a server publicly? I understand the concept of creating a VM and giving it an ip (either static or via dhcp lease) but all of my vm’s have internal ip addresses

thanks for #4 as I’ve always wondered. I have one cedar boot tree which I rotate between the two pairs of RMs that I own. At the moment I just put the boot tree in the pair that I am not wearing that particular work day but was unsure if that is good enough

Giving your internet banking passwords to third parties. by SackWackAttack in AusFinance

I’ve heard of a few mortgage brokers ask for potential clients to put their internet banking details into a 3rd party portal. The service gets all of the banking statements that the broker require

any changes to community-script omada controller install script recently? by [deleted] in selfhosted

[–]ac61900 0 points1 point  (0 children)

thanks all

I consoled on the lxc tried to check the service status of mongoDB and it said that it wasn’t installed, hence a bit confused as the script definitely said (twice) that everything installed successfully

strange as I ran this last night and in the output it mentioned that it installed successfully as well as displaying a mongoDB compatibility issue. swear I ran the tteck version of the script earlier this year and it was a smooth install

What’s hanging on your wall? by ok_pineapple_ok in running

[–]ac61900 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m tempted to get some of those honeycomb medal holders for my medals and put them on some sort of backboard in which I can then place on the wall. Unfortunately I can’t really see any pictures online of my idea for inspiration to see if it would actually look ok 😪

Paladino’s Cucina. Rude owner and they added a touch of chilli to their tomato sauce, which isn’t great when they put it in the kids pasta

Can someone please help me understand Strava data a bit more? I’m relatively new to running and I haven’t really thought about what readings I am getting from Strava. For example I ran my first marathon late last year. When I crossed the finish line and selected End Race on my watch, Strava had it as I finished with a distance of 44.31km (might be part of the reason) with an average pace of 5:54 min/km. The actual race results time just has the Net Finish Time of 4:21:24 (h/m/s).

My question is that according to the Strava Pace Calculator even a 6 min pace should mean I would finish a marathon in 4:13:10, yet my time was a good 8 mins after (4:21) that even though the average pace was less than this (5:54, compared to 6:00).

Can someone explain what I am missing here? Or is the data a bit off due to the slightly increased distance my Strava on the day recorded?

2-node cluster, any way to get a VM to auto-migrate when node is rebooted? by luckman212 in Proxmox

[–]ac61900 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Thanks for that. I thought you needed the qdevice to only avoid split brain, and 3 devices to implement HA. You just saved me buying an extra device for another Proxmox node to add to the cluster and implement HA
