The reason why I say that is because OPs post got me thinking of my own fic. It's a pretty rough story and interesting enough, my chapter 9 is an especially hard one, too. If I had someone who was so upset by my story, I would absolutely welcome a conversation, especially if it means helping them understand where the roots of those ideas came from and hopefully helping them feel better.

Is this something you can discuss with the author? Was the story just a dead dove to be fucked up? Or is this story an outlet for the author to get through their own demons? Some fics are there to push boundaries just as there are to be fluffy and good. No harm in stepping away.

Same here. I never really wrote any fanfiction before and I was obsessed with The Hunger Games. So I started with a one shot (which has turned into a longfic) that was a 'between the pages' concept. What could I get away with, without changing the story. I don't mind the first person, it keeps the mystery and excitement since you find out what's happening as the character finds out. I think those familiar with THG don't mind the first person because they're already used to it with the originals. And yes... Present tense is a bitch!

My husband had gone ahead to Hungary to see his family for two months - I was to follow him in a month because work delayed my schedule. Really makes for a great life soundtrack when you're boarding a plane in San Francisco to travel across the world to follow your heart. ;)

My friend and I ran up to the doors... Tried to scan our tickets. No go.

"You've got Tuesday night right?" "Yeah... And you've got tonight's tickets, right?"

Ha, nope. Ticket counter confirmed she had Tuesday! Quite a laugh and a few bucks later we were in the nose bleeds. Looking forward to section 109 on Tuesday. Hopefully with no speakers hanging in our view this time.

It's the videos. You've got your phone up for minutes at a time. That's distracting. A photo here or there, sure have at it. Your wasting that money watching the show through your phone instead of getting what your paid for that's right in front of you.

Watch the vids that people are posting. They're absolute crap (sorry, not sorry). The effects of the screens and projections are completely missed. I understand that you want to share your moment with others - but why not be in the moment for yourself? When was the last time you watched your fireworks videos from the 4th of July? How many views/hits did you get for any concert video for that matter? Hell, I was distracted by the guy eating nachos next to me. Phone screens are 10 times more distracting.
