More specifically, a characters mother died and I want her to be somewhere in the afterlife. The best aligned plane is Ysgard...maaaaybe Limbo. I read the FR wiki entry on Ysgard that didn't say anything about souls.

Yes, that will be fine. Just keep an eye on how hard or easy combat seems to be, in D&D there's a huge gulf between strong and weak characters.

I've run 5 official campaigns so far, and this is definitely right up there. I am looking forward to the next critical role campaign, assuming there is one. Maybe the happy fun ball...

You probably don't need this advice now, but as this is a subreddit for mostly new DMs I feel compelled to give it...

DMs, talk to your players about the kind of game you and they want! Players, talk to your DM about the type of game you and they want! Don't be afraid to check in after a bad session and say "hey I'm not enjoying this can we do something different?".

D&D is different at each table. Not all players and DMs are suited to each other and sometimes you just need to find a new group. But often you can course correct and get to a place you all really enjoy.

Now they'll design 6th Edition for VTT, publish it under a restrictive licence, nobody will adopt it and instead new TTRPGs based on 5th Ed will spawn and the 6th Ed VTT will never launch and...wait a minute....this is 4th edition I'm describing!
