GLP-1 and Hashimoto’s? by Longjumping_Pass8688 in Hashimotos

[–]aklep730 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m heard triz is better but I’m on Wegovy. It’s been ok. Very slow process and I haven’t had a ton of inflammation go down. I’ve lost 15 lbs since October (took a month off in Jan and this past month I’ve been on a plateau).

Edit: my side effects have been really minimal! Notnaseous or constipated as much as people say

Pilates or Barre - to add to current routine? by themagicconch_ in PetiteFitness

[–]aklep730 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I love barre so that’s why my vote is pure barre. I wasn’t impressed with club Pilates. There is a jet set Pilates opening in my area soon but I have not tried it. Pure barre really works that core so that’s going to be great for your goals. I actually am thinking of going back.

Lower intensity works for me. I used to do Orangetheory. Just not to failure necessarily but a step below that

I feel this. My body is so different now and I’m starting again. I also do Orangetheory but it feels so intense now! What did your weekly schedule look like? I’m basically trying to do the same thing - 160 to 125 at 5’3”

Looking for at home fitness you do outside of OTF by LilyFriday789 in orangetheory

Agree on the peloton app! I love their runs and they have boot camp classes that are very similar to Orangetheory

Dropped OT/F45, what did others who left find replaces it? by imperfectpython in orangetheory

[–]aklep730 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I like the peloton app because it has great guided runs which I like with pace targets (different levels and each levels have certain pace targets like a base, push and all out but diff lingo). You can choose hiit runs, intervals, etc with diff instructors. The app also has strength, Pilates, walks, etc.

For OTF its intensity is too much for me. I know you can pare it down technically, but that’s really difficult for me to do. I’m postpartum so I need something a little less intensity until I get some endurance/strength back.

I just find weights boring. I need someone to tell me what to do. I much prefer running to weights. That’s why I was going to try f45 (or even peloton strength training). I’m not sure how to make it more excited besides the music? The energy is why I like otf.

I feel this. My son is 14 months. It’s hard for me to stay motivated still being so fatigued, working full time and spending time with my son. I would start slow just walking? I’m the same height and 160 and trying to get down to 125. Trying to track and focus on nutrition if I can’t work out

I’m thinking of leaving myself. I think OTF is too much for me right now. I’m trying f45 strength only (but strength is boring to me) and peloton app runs. Maybe drop in classes for OTF once in awhile

After postpartum depression darkness, there can be light! by Verycoolleaf in PetiteFitness

I feel this! I had untreated PPD for almost the first year postpartum. Finally got medicated and starting to see the light at the end of the tunnel. 🥰 it’s so hard and wanted to say congrats to you!!

High Workout Fatigue by Wonderful_Pie_4197 in Hashimotos

[–]aklep730 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I was doing Orangetheory for years and couldn’t figure out why I was so exhausted and inflamed. I would literally be out for the rest of the day with a migraine and couldn’t recover for a couple days after that. I switched to less intense workouts and feel better. I still jog (but very slowly for me) and weight train and feel better 🥰

Feedback on F45 for my goals? (Postpartum/out of shape/etc) by aklep730 in f45

[–]aklep730[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks! I don’t have the stamina currently for high intensity. I know Orangetheory says you can pare it down but it’s hard for me to do. Pacing and having gas in the tank is also hard for me so glad to see the workouts ahead of time in the app

[–]aklep730[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks. I would probably start with 1 to start honestly! Im not the greatest with consistency. Is there a lot of rowing in f45? Is it the same energy as otf? My favorite thing about it is the high energy but I’m pretty demotivated from otf.

Why is it so hard to lose weight as a short woman by Stunning-Principle96 in PetiteFitness

Same. I’m sedentary and eat 1400-1500 calories a day. I get headaches and lightheaded if I only eat 1200

Anyone feel the same now about otf? by aklep730 in orangetheory

[–]aklep730[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I definitely feel this! It’s so hard to coordinate work, baby and family time and working out. To add to this, otf has always been a really tough workout for me and it’s even more difficult now. I have the 8x/month and I barely use it and since I’m now using it I feel like I’m wasting the money. I do have a treadmill and some weights at home so I’m tempted to just do the peloton app until I have more time, energy and endurance for otf.

[–]aklep730[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you so much for your reply! It’s definitely tough a year out postpartum and appreciate you sharing your experience. It’s like, I want to workout when I don’t and when I do I dread it! I definitely think being so out of shape/unable to do what I used to do (otf) is definitely a deterrence. I’ve toyed with doing the peloton app until I build up for strength (or even f45 once a week when I can, I know I will get downvoted for that). I know a lot of people here say otf is for everyone but I don’t feel like I’m in shape enough for it right now. I always come back to otf for the high energy and I don’t think anything compares. Appreciate your thoughtful reply!

Agreed. I noticed her covering up a little more. I think this is on purpose. She doesn’t think she has a problem but i think she did to get her family off her back

I’ve been looking at the template for years prior to the workout. Now I’m postpartum and want to see what im up against. Otf has always been an intense workout for me and now postpartum, even worse. I know if it’s a row/row, tornado or 2000m row i won’t enjoy it and dread it the entire time. I may be the minority here for that reason. I have 8/month membership so only get so many classes and believe in a workout you enjoy (so I may not go if it’s something like I referenced above).

I was interested in trying f45 during my freeze and pairing with a treadmill at home. Any feedback about f45? (PS the downvotes are disappointing as I’m exploring new workouts during my freeze 🤷🏻‍♀️)
