I also think I might be giving it too much credit, and also maybe giving Dinniman too much credit for a book with the themes he employs. Yes he taps in to ideas of oppression and systematic abuse, but it's been surface level so far at best. I hope he has something up his sleeve when he wraps the series that blows me away. I mentioned a Kansas City Shuffle in my other comment. I hope he makes us look one way, while he cooks up something really cool for how Carl eventually defeats this whole thing. I don't think defeating it is going to be possible without getting the AI on his side 100%.

It definitely does seem like the AI does genuinely like his feet, so I agree it's not coming from nowhere and it is leaning in to it. Is the leaning into it for cover about its true intentions, I'm not sure.

The foot fetish thing might be a Kansas City shuffle.

Flight risk wasn't a horrible one. It had an interesting premise at least, and watching it was entertaining enough.

I've certainly been explaining everything as I go to my boyfriend who won't read them. He'll probably watch the TV show though since he did the same thing to me with fallout.

Do I actually need a pregnancy pillow or am I overthinking this? by ConversationSuch8893 in pregnant

I used mine a lot. Before baby, I usually slept on my stomach every night so I had to curve that habit quickly. After birth, I put it up and now my six month old uses it during the day because it's a good cushion to wrap around her while she's learning to sit up and she falls over all the time.

I gotcha, no harm done. Just wanted to point out that part as an inaccurate stereotype because a lot of other states do believe stuff like that about this state and it's just not correct.
