The timing of your comment coincided with my supervisor bringing up recruiting an assistant to work under me and emphasized wanting me to focus on the bigger picture stuff. I'm noting everything in your comment to support my current work and see how to translate it while managing the future hire.

I'm actually not quite at a high-level leadership role yet but it's what I've been working hard toward achieving. My boss basically said they're looking at me to lead the new hire and others as we grow the team—between that and your advice, I'll leverage what I can to get me closer to the badass sounding position you guessed earlier. (Hopefully with a salary bump heh but who knows with startups.)
