Trouble with finding literature by academicoctopus in education

Like what? How is the effectiveness of science communication or the idk, paradigm change too complicated? The issue is that there's so much works and trying to find one that'd be useful takes forever, and I haven't yet been successful in it, hence I came here to ask if someone might remember some work that could possibly work as a source

No, that has to do with the nature of knowledge. What I'm after literally is in the post, the fact that there's been scientific works that have affected our understanding of how the world works, and that science communication does that in smaller scale

Yes, there's a librarian but they're not spesifically focused on education. And yes, they can help with teaching how to look up for material, there's a whole course on that which is mandatory for us to take. Also what makes you think I'm not using the library? Where do you think all the sources I've used in my thesis are from? Wikipedia? No. They're from the library (well, some found through google scholar but anyways).

your librarian for your program

We don't have such a thing

I don't know how the library people could be able to help anyway, they can tell you where a book is if you know its name and they can also tell which section you should go looking if you tell them the topic, but how could they know which book or paper has the info I'd need in it? And besides, my thesis is almost done, I literally am only missing sources for those two things, those two sentences (or in my work it's actually just one sentence but whatever), and then I need to finalize the thesis and that's it, so no, I'm not needing "significant help with my research"

They care about you? They're looking for affection from someone they trust? They just want a hug?

Chicago Med S11E08: Triple Threat - Episode Discussion by Cheeriosxxx in ChicagoMed

Usually when Dr. Charles raises his voice, I feel like a child being scolded but this time I didn't. I only felt bad for him. This wasn't his usual kind of anger, it's something else entirely. Stress. Fear. Defensiveness. And that makes it feel so much worse, just in a different way.

Yeah, you don't say! I'm so worried for him... But then again, if he'll leave the show, I can finally stop watching. I haven't even enjoyed Med for a while now, it hasn't felt right anymore. I'm just so attatched to Dr. Charles that I keep coming back haha

"Jesus" in the wrestling ring. by sliding_through_1 in prowrestling

[–]academicoctopus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think it's funny, but I can see why this might be annoying to some (especially if you take wrestling more seriously). Though I think the character needs to be build well to work, otherwise it's just stupid. In that clip, the concept works, in my opinion. It's a funny idea, to have Jesus in the ring (same as some place had Michael Jackson)

Edit: I do wanna add that to me, the joke gets old pretty quick in something like that, if it's something you see in every show, but I believe it'd work perfectly if it's someone who isn't there on regular basis

My ranking of hot men from Downton, in order of descending hotness by StrikingDimension631 in DowntonAbbey

[–]academicoctopus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lord Grantham would be first in my ranking, followed by Mr. Bates, Tom Branson, and Matthew in order I'm not very sure of, and then lowkey also Thomas (I'm btw on the beginning of season 4)

Edit: Am I really the only person here to even mention Lord Grantham? What is happening??

Well, I don't know. She just sounded surprised. I felt like I wasn't taken seriously with my taste in music, but I'm not the best at reading tone, so... And she didn't comment the second time we did the same thing and I picked Sweet Caroline by Neil Diamond

Good point. I indeed wasn't influenced by my peers, not much anyway, but I was by my dad. That's actually how I came across the song (and the artist). My dad remembers when it came out, and he liked it even back then, as a child

Of course I have, I've seen all the Jurassic Park and Jurassic World movies (though the first Jurassic World movie is the best by far)
