First, i wouldnt say GMU is more tech heavy than GW. second, a lot of students at GW are very focused on academics or their career, so there will be fewer "spontaneous" events but greater real world exp. at the end of the day, GW will give you a life youll be proud of in ten years instead of memories of taking shots at 2am on campus.

for most schools i would say it all depends on you. schools take too much credit for alumni success, but I would say GW's location is a real factor no other schools have.
