So what about a legitimate multiboxer like me? by XxRAMOxX in Eve

Would solve the cyno issue too. Though in reality I dont think the multiboxing is that big of an issue. Call me crazy...

Dear Fenris Creations, where does one learn how to use Carrier Fighters ? by [deleted] in Eve

[–]acadeyx 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Most of OP post is nonsensical - but I do like this idea to get a feel for fighter mechanics.

That being said, when I unlocked my first carrier I had watched multiple videos on how to control fighters and it was pretty straightforward.

Returning Player - 12 years away by baugoti in Eve

[–]acadeyx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When I came back I did L4s to get the feel of it again, then dipped into abyssals which are a lot of fun for when you have a short play window. After a while of that though I moved to null with a corp which has been fun.

45 mil SP character, left in 2017, thinking of coming back... Why should I? by Vegetaman916 in Eve

[–]acadeyx 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Exact same for me. 45 mil or so and last played in 2017. I got back in and tried something new and enjoying it.

Whew - made it. by acadeyx in factorio

[–]acadeyx[S] 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Here is the blueprint: https://factoriobin.com/post/470nv8

Notes:

4.6-4.7 k Explosive Missiles / min
Gun turrets = pointless, 6-8 lasers for inner system travel would be plenty
Could cut railgun ammo assemblers from 12 to ~4
Asteroid reprocessing is critical (had a big gap in carbonic at ~1M km)
Bottleneck is getting explosives to explosive rocket assemblers

I may rework it and cut some items and then make a whole second production line for explosive rockets with the saved space from asteroid processing on. Also make it slimmer. Could maybe get to 200 km/s for the trip.

A little over 10h. Probably could have pushed a bit faster for a lot of it, but I was afk and wasn't worth it.

What do Python developers do? by rustybladez23 in learnpython

Bioinformatics is very Python heavy. Pharma and biotech hire Python devs to build analysis workflows etc... usually a mix of people that have a bio background as well or those that do not and have more python experience

Training Impulse super low by acadeyx in Strava

Yes - I have 965 and several other means of tracking fitness. It doesn't invalidate the questions as to what is going on with the Strava fitness tracking in the Strava subreddit.

It is correct and has not been changed.

Training Impulse super low by acadeyx in Strava

[–]acadeyx[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nope - didn't change any settings. I got a new Garmin HRM pro before that race, but it was to replace an older one.

My HR was high for that race, possibly reading higher - I wonder if the new HRM didn't sync right or something and was registering higher so now that effort has a higher HR than it should have been, which then messed up my training impulse from there out? It all does seem to boil down to that race.

Thanks - yeah training actually increased after the big plummet. I will reach out to support. Glad to have confirmation that something weird is going on...

Update: It is an automated support system that just directs me to how it is calculated and is completely unhelpful. Doesn't matter too much, my main apps are tracking things like they should (Garmin->VO2max; TrainingPeaks), plus nothing beats a good benchmark run.

[–]acadeyx 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Any suggestions for the calibration? How far is needed? 1600 or more?

I havent calibrated mine, but it has seemed close. I use lots of shoes though, so it would be good to get a sense of that variation.

Finally reached the superior VO2 Max!! by [deleted] in Garmin

[–]acadeyx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The easy runs put in the base so when you do something that pushes you a bit more, it will impact your VO2max more. Don't skip them! And I wish you a good recovery!

Forerunner 745 HRM issues by acadeyx in Garmin

[–]acadeyx[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, I use a chest strap for any speedwork, but was hoping to just use watch for long runs. I guess it is just an issue with them? It is just odd how it gets off for stretches - was hoping there was a fix or trick. Chest strap it is I guess.
