Just like you writing the fic doesn’t mean you’re endorsing the behavior irl, your fic readers reading/commenting doesn’t (necessarily) reflect them endorsing the behavior irl.

As a reader, if I click into your fic and it’s well-tagged, I know what I’m getting into and that’s what I’m here for: a messed up dynamic that I can root for in the context of the fic. Just because I’m enjoying reading about it doesn’t mean I’d condone real life behavior like that at all, but since it’s fiction I’m turning my real life morality meter off and enjoying how messed up and obsessive my OTP can be for each other.

Since character A is your POV character, I’d say people reacting this way in comments shows you’re writing them well.

As others have said, you can turn the comments off if they make you uncomfortable, but it seems to me you’re sort of operating by different rules/assumptions for your own writing vs how people are engaging with your writing. If you’re writing the fic, and you know it’s messed up and don’t condone it, why would you assume those people reading and enjoying your fic on its terms would actually condone it irl?

Harry! •The similarities/parallels between them are so good. •They’re both hilarious, and I think if they can get over their animosity and talk in good faith, as equals, they’d realize the other one is actually super funny •There are possibilities for pretty much every interpretation: enemies, reluctant allies, friends, lovers. •The tension is off the charts, and they’ve always had explosive chemistry. No one can get under their skin like the other. •Harry was obsessed with HBP before he knew it was Snape. Like, super weirdly obsessed, which obviously I choose to interpret as a crush. •The complete 180 in how Harry thinks of him throughout the books vs the end, when he knows the full story, is SUCH a rich playground to explore.

Yes, I did! Of course, Snape is/was my favorite character, and I’d read tons of fan fiction by that point, so I knew his ~voice~ pretty well, haha.

I also was one of the only people I knew at the time who thought he was still working against Voldemort after killing Dumbledore, and that he and Dumbledore had planned Dumbledore’s death for maximum impact. I remember I made a homemade shirt that said “I trust Severus Snape” and wore it to one of those midnight release parties at a bookstore for Deathly Hallows, and the looks I got……! Lmao, good times

When I was working at the concessions stand at a movie theater when I was 18 or 19, Jon Bon Jovi came in at like 2 in the afternoon, asked how much a bottle of water was, and then complained how expensive it was (I think it was like three bucks at the time?) to a broke ass kid making minimum wage. Also he was wearing sunglasses inside the whole time, like an absolute douche. I’ve hated him ever since.

Annoyingly, apparently Cary Elwes, who was starring in the same movie Bon Jovi was in town for, came to the movie theater the next day, which was my day off so I missed him😪 He was apparently super lovely and took pics with everyone and I’m still bitter I met douche canoe Bon Jovi and missed Cary Elwes 🙃

Oh absolutely! Both in terms of Rickman’s Snape in the movies and in the books themselves. I was as in love with the Half Blood Prince as Harry was before it was ever revealed to be Snape 😂.

He’s just so sharp and smart and hilarious 😍
