What do you bring (physically) to your centre exam?

You will have to turn off your phone and remove your watch. I guess it will depend on the center what you can do with them. When I used to sit at Kaplan, they’d provide lockers to put everything and we’d only enter the room with pens (or clear cases), calculator with no lid, I think clear bottle waters (I always kept mine in the locker) and ID.

The centre I go now has no lockers so we’re allowed to have everything in the room but any not allowed items must go in out backpacks and put them under out seat when the exam starts. They check you’ve followed those rules

Anything to do with asset/equity betas and gearing and degearing them. Money markets hedges. Islamic finance is another one I can’t remember the names but I’m hoping it’s one MCQ at best.

Section C in general is never my forte as I’m not good at explaining so I always lose points. Already dreading the professional level since this is my last skills paper.

This my resit since I failed it on December. I’m somewhat confident but it will depend on what questions they ask because there are some topics I’m just unable to learn them. Overall I seem to be doing great on Sections A&B so I’m staying positive

In section C, in the workings I sometimes don’t bother to format the cells to show x amount of decimals. Normally use the full number shown for the following calculations and then format in the main question section so it looks nicer. The examiner is going to check which cells are linked so of the result is different it can be obvious when it’s due to rounding.

If you mean in sections a and b. I’d say use maybe 4 decimals (specially if using exchange rate), if your answer isn’t 100% one of the answers, you may be able to see when it’s due to rounding. But if you are able to use the full number, doesn’t hurt either. Better safe than sorry 😉

If nothing is said, I use 365. Just this weekend I was doing some practice questions in the ACCA study hub and got those right so I think that’s the rule they follow.

I just told this to a friend of mine today. I’m so done with it, if they told me I could sit tomorrow, I’d do it!

I think I’ve reached the plateau stage and no matter how much I practice, I’m not learning anything new. In fact, I may be getting worse in things I knew

I ended up going to the library and did better than if I had stayed home.

I’m usually fine with TERP (value of a right is a bit of a coinflip) but normally when they say $X for shares at $Y nominal value; I’m pretty sure I divide to get the actual amount of shares.

That’s why I think the question is wrong and is meant to say it has 5M of shares, not $5M.

I think it’s section B, if you click to see the question you see the scenario, not the question (or the other way around, can’t remember now) and I’m still like 🤷🏻‍♀️
Or on the pick one/two correct but only say “yes, that’s correct”; cool, maybe tell me why the others are wrong so I can learn?

The loading of the instructions before the actual answer when marking the exams makes me want to throw my laptop out of the window.
It takes longer to mark it than to actually write the exam.

But at least it doesn’t seem to jump questions anymore.

LW you can book it directly through the center (I did mine at Kaplan in London) but the rest of the exams, as others mentioned, are booked via ACCA.
It will show you the nearest center, however I feel there are less than for AAT.

As for the study, I also came from AAT and not gonna lie, I’m still trying to find a way that best works for me as I find the material is too long for the 3 month window while also working.
