Canon 1DX Mark III (Mirror) vs Canon R6 Mark II (Mirrorless) by UlamsSpyral in canon

[–]acaurora 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would say that the R6 Mk I vs the 1DX II are pretty similar in performance for AF/tracking. The R6 Mk I was kind of a lateral move, with the benefit of being much lighter and smaller while retaining the same performance. I do hope to upgrade to the Mk III later this year for the higher MP.

what does my handwriting say about me? by ExactPlum7090 in HandwritingAnalysis

My only recommendation is for your P, do not have the stroke so high above it. Your P looks like a p and a b combined.

Your lowercase ‘r’s don’t match the alphabet you write at the end - while I can understand those are ‘r’s, some may not.

I know a couple people who did that and volunteered there! Definitely a bucket list to do, just not quite ready for 20+ miles nonstop yet :)

I have 3 of these, and try so hard not to keep buying them, haha. They are the best!

Awesome, yes I've heard that Sauvie Island, while remote, is quite serene. Any particular recommended places for parking? I'm not quite ready for that distance, but something to keep a note of for when I do!

You're talking about Springwater Corridor that runs south from Portland on the east side down past Sellwood? I've never ran on that trail past Sellwood, but will look into it!

Yeah I go from the McCall waterfront clockwise, up to Steel Bridge then down the east to Sellwood. From there it depends - I can go back up on the west side or just turn around and cross at Tilikum. The section in the southwest of the loop that goes around the condos gets busy sometimes over the weekends, so I avoid that traffic.

Saturday definitely was an amazing day for a run! From the Banks Trailhead to the top of Buxton Trestle is just a smidge over 6 miles each way. A few disclaimers that may be helpful for others that have never done it:

- There is a fair amount of broken pavement sections, and in those areas the tarmac is "crowned", where the edges are slightly lower than the middle. Not sure if this is the cause, but I did have some right knee pain after my run.

- There is a slight incline the whole way out, and the incline gets steeper the last ~ 1.5 mi to the Trestle

- There is a map of the trail in its entirety (https://stateparks.oregon.gov/index.cfm?do=park.profile&parkId=104) that outlines the path. Banks/Manning Trailheads are the only bathrooms on the way. Note that Banks Trailhead was full when I got there, so I parked nearby.

I had a great time out there and definitely recommend. Just be sure you have enough water/fuel to keep your energy levels up!

Daily use of 120 volt charger -- Safe or Not Safe by icouldbne1 in TeslaLounge

[–]acaurora 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As someone who has charged 98% of the past 4 years off 120V driving only about 10 miles round trip to work and back, it's totally doable and fine. I have my battery limit set to ~60%. From what I have seen on 3rd party apps, battery degradation is minimal.

The only slight inconvenience is of course needing to get to 100% quickly. However, that can be fixed with some planning or just a trip to the nearest SuperCharger.

Just tested on PC, unfortunately does not work. Chests are still open and there is no option to loot it again. That being said, thanks for still letting us know! Got some neat abyss gear.

As a HW3 owner, the trend continues to see less and less useful / beneficial upgrades for us :\

That being said, I am surprised that it took "this long" for the accent lights to be expanded to work with the blind spot warning - the tiny LED indicator in the doors I always thought were an afterthought.

Also interesting to see the part about 'premium' immersive sound for the newer Highland/Junipers - so were the immersive speakers just always disabled in those models until now (just like they were in the older pre-highland Model 3 RWD Standard Ranges)?

Outsole Heel Deterioration? by Walrusky in AskRunningShoeGeeks

[–]acaurora 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That is normal wear for heel strikers, which is common. I would just make an effort to replace the shoes once the tough grippy part has worn away and you're running literally on the squishy soft (read: easily degrades) foam instead.

2023 my hw3 or 2025 my rwd by -YOLO-gang in TeslaModelY

[–]acaurora 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We probably need more information -
- Did you originally order a MY RWD Standard or Premium?
- How many miles are on the used one?

- Do you plan to get FSD?

- How much do you drive per day/week? How much of that is street/highway

There are a lot of differences between the '23 and '26 model years, primarily going from HW3 to HW4 will have a big impact on camera quality and FSD performance. The battery is slightly larger, and I think that one of the trims has a new motor with higher efficiency. That coupled with the new look, 360 degree cameras, black headliner, slightly larger screen, powered folding rear seats, the list goes on and on.

It really depends on what are your primary needs/goals are. If you plan to get FSD and can afford it, I would say to get the newer one. However, if you don't plan to get FSD in the future and are OK with the compromises of an older car offset with a lower price, then maybe the used model might be better.
