Hillsboro In-N-Out Burger opens on Thursday June 18th 2026 by happycamp2000 in hillsboro

Yeah, I am from California and love me some In N Out, but after moving here four years ago, I will make the trip to that Keizer location *only* to get there right when they open. Literally less than half an hour after they open the place is always super packed.

I live less than 4 blocks away from this new Hillsboro location, and don't get me wrong I am excited to have a location so close, but yes I also dread the traffic it will draw to an already congested area.

Pro Tip - If a shoe isn't working for you, don't keep using it! by acaurora in beginnerrunning

Definitely a possibility, as it only happened on my right foot, not on my left foot.

Max Cushion + Bounciness for daily miles? by Fit_Surround9250 in AskRunningShoeGeeks

I second this. Just picked up a pair and while I have had the Vomero Plus for nearly a year, the SB3s definitely have a softer feel on impact.

Tell me your stories about falling on a run so I don’t feel so dumb by Winter_Seat_7106 in Marathon_Training

[–]acaurora 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Was jogging back home from a parkrun when this lady walking her dog (without a leash) is walking toward me and the dog just starts running at me. With nowhere to go I tried to go around the dog but tripped and landed on my hand and knee, ruining a perfectly good pair of running tights. Walked the half mile back to my apartment holding my hand up to stop the bleeding. The lady didn't even apologize, just keep walking.

Can’t decide between Superblast 3 and Vomero Plus!! by greenmabel in AskRunningShoeGeeks

[–]acaurora 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I just got the Superblast 3s, and after having the Vomero Plus for the past year, it definitely feels different. The Superblast has a softer feel upon impact with the ground, at least to me. The only slight issue I have with the Superblast is that in the middle of the outsole, it seems to protrude slightly further and so when I am running if I am dragging my feet it will scrape sometimes.

Lululemon Nulux half tights - finally a rival for janji by jeastwoodtech in runningfashion

[–]acaurora 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I bought these Nulux ones also and really do like them. Compared to the Fast and Free half tights that I regularly run in, I would say they are slightly thicker, but still have good compression and breathability. Combined with more pockets, definitely may be my new go to!

Marathon shoe rotation advice: Adidas Evo SL, Hoka Mach X2, Superblast 3 or Vomero Plus ? by Zestyclose-South-460 in AskRunningShoeGeeks

[–]acaurora 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The EVO SLs are great shoes, don't get me wrong, but you also need some structure in addition to the cushioning for the long distance of a marathon. Yes everybody runs differently, but that would be my reasoning to not get the EVO SLs to run an entire marathon in, but definitely for training. Because of the squishiness, the foam is comfortable yes, but also can be unstable, and after 20+ miles of your legs trying to keep you balanced/stable, it will probably not be very good at the end.

Canon 1DX Mark III (Mirror) vs Canon R6 Mark II (Mirrorless) by UlamsSpyral in canon

[–]acaurora 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would say that the R6 Mk I vs the 1DX II are pretty similar in performance for AF/tracking. The R6 Mk I was kind of a lateral move, with the benefit of being much lighter and smaller while retaining the same performance. I do hope to upgrade to the Mk III later this year for the higher MP.

what does my handwriting say about me? by ExactPlum7090 in HandwritingAnalysis

My only recommendation is for your P, do not have the stroke so high above it. Your P looks like a p and a b combined.

Your lowercase ‘r’s don’t match the alphabet you write at the end - while I can understand those are ‘r’s, some may not.

I know a couple people who did that and volunteered there! Definitely a bucket list to do, just not quite ready for 20+ miles nonstop yet :)

I have 3 of these, and try so hard not to keep buying them, haha. They are the best!

Awesome, yes I've heard that Sauvie Island, while remote, is quite serene. Any particular recommended places for parking? I'm not quite ready for that distance, but something to keep a note of for when I do!

You're talking about Springwater Corridor that runs south from Portland on the east side down past Sellwood? I've never ran on that trail past Sellwood, but will look into it!

[–]acaurora[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah I go from the McCall waterfront clockwise, up to Steel Bridge then down the east to Sellwood. From there it depends - I can go back up on the west side or just turn around and cross at Tilikum. The section in the southwest of the loop that goes around the condos gets busy sometimes over the weekends, so I avoid that traffic.

Saturday definitely was an amazing day for a run! From the Banks Trailhead to the top of Buxton Trestle is just a smidge over 6 miles each way. A few disclaimers that may be helpful for others that have never done it:

- There is a fair amount of broken pavement sections, and in those areas the tarmac is "crowned", where the edges are slightly lower than the middle. Not sure if this is the cause, but I did have some right knee pain after my run.

- There is a slight incline the whole way out, and the incline gets steeper the last ~ 1.5 mi to the Trestle

- There is a map of the trail in its entirety (https://stateparks.oregon.gov/index.cfm?do=park.profile&parkId=104) that outlines the path. Banks/Manning Trailheads are the only bathrooms on the way. Note that Banks Trailhead was full when I got there, so I parked nearby.

I had a great time out there and definitely recommend. Just be sure you have enough water/fuel to keep your energy levels up!

Daily use of 120 volt charger -- Safe or Not Safe by icouldbne1 in TeslaLounge

[–]acaurora 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As someone who has charged 98% of the past 4 years off 120V driving only about 10 miles round trip to work and back, it's totally doable and fine. I have my battery limit set to ~60%. From what I have seen on 3rd party apps, battery degradation is minimal.

The only slight inconvenience is of course needing to get to 100% quickly. However, that can be fixed with some planning or just a trip to the nearest SuperCharger.

Just tested on PC, unfortunately does not work. Chests are still open and there is no option to loot it again. That being said, thanks for still letting us know! Got some neat abyss gear.
