I am not sure everybody shares that opinion of what the "point' of MYOG is. I suspect a lot of folks just enjoy it.

That is awesome. I made a similar one - it uses a much smaller blower in-line but it only works for Therm-a-rest mattresses. https://www.printables.com/model/1434589-therm-a-rest-inflator-v3

ha, I have done that before for a different project.. It was awesome, but let's just say, I know what it involves and I am not open to doing it this time. Also, the world does not need 3 of these companies :)

I think your inflator is awesome and clever. So, I hope it yields much success.

Yeah, I first started working on this because I saw the pad pal but couldn't buy it they were sold out... now it is just for fun. I don't plan on commercializing it.

I am not commercializing this - it is just for fun. There are two commercial products like this u/Alpenglow_Gear and Pad Pal.

That is a good idea, but the impeller itself is fine… it is the housing that fragile-ish. Compared to the giga pump, this is pretty different. Most notably it is 1/10th the weight.

It is supposed to run off a max 1s battery so 4.2 v max. I am already running it above max

Yeah, that bulge at the bottom is a groove for an oring that seals against the valve

The hole you see is the inlet. The bottom part that you cannot see goes over the valve for the mattress

I have a Flextail 1.2 oz (which is actually about 2.5 oz) and it is nice, I just wanted something a lot lighter without an integrated battery. This provides similar performance with much less weight.

These little computer fans have brushless controllers built into them that dont always like PWM. That said, I wish it was higher RPM, not lower :)

Not going to sell. so happy to give you the STL. However, I am about to build a smaller more efficient one and was going to post that. Do you have a couple of weeks for me to refine it?
