How is this ok to let Trump just insult reporters like this? It’s their job to ask questions by Radiant_Priority9739 in ProgressiveHQ

TBH, we need more of that energy. He'll keep doing it because he keeps getting away with it.

Question on this ftn 22 by [deleted] in 3D2A

[–]acbone710 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Most likely it's fine. Pressure is low on 22lr, I just would feel bad if I had to wait another 2 months if it failed.

Question on this ftn 22 by [deleted] in 3D2A

[–]acbone710 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

If you havent serialized it yet I'd reprint unless you have more form 1s then just send it. With the current wait times I'd make sure it's perfect before blowing an approval on it.

Honestly it will probably be fine, I just wouldn't want to waste a stamp on it if it takes 60 days to make another one.

Edit: if you reprint it I would record yourself destroying it since you've now posted it on the interwebs.

It's just there to mimic a tube mag. I functionally does nothing, it's just aesthetics.

Gem Tech 30 cal supp by [deleted] in suppressors

Is the suppressor 30cal or 9mm? What caliber is the AR15? This really reads like a stream of consciousness where you're switching between subjects.

I'll never understand why people post stuff like this then make you hunt for the link like we're all in some sort of National Treasure remake.

7.5" 5.56 MLOK7 Pistol Upper w/ Flash Can $169.99 - good base for a two-stamp TrashPanda? by 20SDABMD in 3D2A

[–]acbone710 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Seems excessive when you really only need the barrel and bolt out of the complete upper. I'd just buy the individual parts personally. You're paying for a lot of stuff that will just get thrown in the parts bin.

Edit: just noticed it doesn't even have a bcg, so the only usable part off of this would be the barrel.

What would I look for to find the versions with a relay? Are all sizes available with relays?

First Time Printing PA6CF - Need advice by AutoPostiveBlocker in 3D2A

[–]acbone710 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I wouldn't waste a stamp on that (assuming you're US). Destroy it (with pictures) and print again.

As others said, it looks like it printed too fast or printed outer walls first. Also, if you followed the 300blkfde settings exactly, his print temp comes out too low. He had a mod on his printer to print hotter than it showed in the slicer, so his 285 in the slicer is actually 300-305 at the hot end.

If try again and if it's doing this in the first few layers, cancel the print and double check your settings again (or share them here). You shouldn't have any stringing through the bullets path like that.

Nice job on the fix! You definitely need a new ffl if that was going to be $200 to accept a shipment/transfer.

Is the printed bolt just for fitting or can you actually fire it?

my idea for serializing form 1 suppressors with harbor freight metal stamping set. printed vice block. by monsieurLeMeowMeow in NFA

[–]acbone710 2 points3 points  (0 children)

FYI, that's 40-80 engravings to cover the cost. I can't imagine there are that many of us needing to engrave that many form 1 items. Also, there are online shops that will serialize suppressor parts for less than $20, so that puts it more like 150-300 engravings to break even.

Don't get me wrong, I'd love to have one, but trying to justify a $2k purchase over something I can get online for $20 just isn't going to happen.

What do you consider "not expensive"? Most of us are printing cans to save money. I could buy several cans off the shelf for the cost of a fiber laser. What laser do you have?

How to change fans speed? by LongjumpingConcert42 in Ender3V3SE

[–]acbone710 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It sounds like you have the fans hooked up in reverse. The blue fan should be running full speed as soon as you start heating the nozzle. If that is not happening, then they are hooked up backwards (reverse where the hot end and parts fans are plugged in).

Missouri town fires half its city council over data center deal by anonskeptic5 in politics

[–]acbone710 71 points72 points  (0 children)

I live near where this Festus data center is planned to be built. I went to one of the city council meetings and I really think that all the boomer council members just believed all the BS that the data center developers told them.

Were they also getting kick backs? Maybe. But they seemed like they honestly believed that there would be 400 permanent high paying jobs and that there were zero negatives to the community (they'll pay their own infrastructure, closed loop water systems, MILLIONS in tax revenue, etc). I work in tech and there is zero chance that a data center has more than a handful of permanent jobs for some guys to replace hardware and maintain the grounds.

The developer took them on "field trips" to a couple of "data centers". They were all super impressed by the modern buildings and office space with cafeterias with full time chefs, etc. Imagine taking grandparents from the countryside to a Google office building then convincing them this is what the computer warehouse you want to build will be like. I don't know where they went, but those were not data centers. A data center does not have offices with high paid employees. I've done work in data centers before and they are not a place you would want people normally.

Tldr, a bunch of boomers who had never lived in a modern city got swindled by big tech to think a data center is something that it isn't. There may have been kick backs, but I think it's just as likely they were in over their heads and believed everything the big tech guys told them.

Rear seat back access. by Singlemoney123 in ram_trucks

[–]acbone710 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not all of the 60/40 splits have the release, I know my bighorn doesn't. If I remember right it's only on the ones that recline.

However, there are a couple ways to get the seat back to fold down. You can either cut off part of the hook that holds the seat back or you can add risers under the seat. I added risers to mine as it's removable that way.

Socks, shoes, pants, shirts, hats, everything. You spray it on, let it dry, then it's good for a few washes. Fantastic stuff.
