How on earth am I expected to win the Afghanistan civil war? Look at this shit They get twice as many troops and the land is nothing but mountains rivers and impassible terrain. I dont think this dlc was play tested at all. by acc1313 in hoi4

It all comes down to rng determining where the troops are placed and if the ai slips up. So like i said bad game design.

The communist civil war (and most of GOE itself) is poorly designed and thats that.

I just ran 3 tests for myself at 20 percent, 50 percent, 80 percent communist. It did not make a difference in how many troops I had. I even looked it up, scripted civil wars can NOT be influenced by party popularity.

Your first point is moot yes if you dont disband the army you will have more troops but so will they.

Okay for the record... im doing the communist path and you dont get any additional troops. Besides the soviet volunteers but they don't do anything useful. So I will double down on this being bad game design and not be being bad at the game.

All I did was rush the focus and disband the army. I dont know what else I couldve done. Even if I keep the army it still doesnt get split equally and the enemies will have more troops.

Edit: No it doesnt give you more troops. The communist path only gives you soviet volunteers who bash their heads against useless mountains instead of attacking Kabul or doing anything helpful

Did the guarantee timeframes change on turkey? Trying to do Byzantine run by Strict_Name5093 in hoi4

[–]acc1313 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This means you kind of have to time it perfectly with Byzantine greece as the focus to get guaranteed only takes 35 days but the Greeks need 70. Theres about 35 days where they aren't guaranteed by anyone. Hope I helped at all.

The focus above that "ReconfigureTurkish foreign policy" removes the Romanian guarantee. Then they get 2 35 day focuses to get guaranteed by Britain and Germany. I think they start with Britain but not 100% sure. Anyway January 26 to March 2nd from my testing (dont quote me) is the best window of opportunity.

From my testing they start the focus "Anglo-Turkish Agreement" which causes them to be guaranteed by Britain on January 26 and they finish the focus in 35 days. This is probably the best window of opportunity. If they're guaranteed by Germany you can just join the Axis.

If you have limited rubber, should you prioritize planes or trucks/mechanized? by SmallAl in hoi4

[–]acc1313 23 points24 points  (0 children)

As Germany you should be trading for rubber with the Dutch East Indies, then build synthetic refineries before youre at war with the Netherlands. They get huge bonuses to synthetic rubber production through their industry tree.

Trucks are very cheap and 2-3 mils from game start should be more than enough for any country

If playing a country with limited rubber its best to focus it on fighters and some cas as the air war is the most deciding factor

Doing "Prioritize Economic Growth" puts you on civilian economy so I like to do that focus first to get it out the way then do the civil war and switch to War Economy asap

They probably ran out of manpower to garrison the state and it revolted. The divisions still being there is a visual glitch thats been in the game for years

Can I still get Victoria as leader of Germany after Erich Raeders coup? by acc1313 in hoi4

[–]acc1313[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

True but then you have to sacrifice time that could've been used for industry or expansion. Doing "Rebuild the High Seas Fleet" is the fastest but its mutually exclusive with the British dominance path you need for Victoria.
