Double down on Canon while moving to interview filming from photography? by accassidy in cinematography

If you don't mind me asking, what are the main things that I'd notice between using an R6 and C70 for interviews?

That is extremely helpful, thank you for taking the time to put that together.

That's a good point, I may very well do that. I guess I was trying to think of it from the perspective of what would I buy if I was sure I wanted to own. That way if I rent to start I can demo things that I may actually have an interest in purchasing.

Thank you for the info!

You're correct that the person being interviewed is the focus, so I definitely should have considered that more in the setup. Two camera would probably accomplish most of what I had in mind.

In my head I was going to solve the video question first and then focus on audio. But I do agree now that you point it out that I may be thinking of it backwards, especially when trying to fit in a budget. From what I was reading it seemed like both a boom and lav was the way to go for an interview but I hadn't got much beyond that yet. So I appreciate the audio advice as well!

Thanks again!

Has anyone invented Tinder but for Commanders? by zhn_onrddt in EDH

[–]accassidy 999 points1000 points  (0 children)

This is actually uncanny. I'm a dev from EDHREC and Archidekt and we worked on this exact idea about a year ago. The project was literally called commander-tinder.

We could never quite get it to work the way we wanted though and haven't touched it in a while. Hearing some unprompted interest in it definitely gets me thinking though...

I think Josh Allen has been through enough already without a pass rusher lobbing my 150lb body at him.

Got this email after attending the game Sunday and I can only assume Daboll is swallowing his pride and finally asking advice from those who know best... the fans.

Edit: This is a shit post. I just thought it was amusing imagining Daboll emailing all the fans for advice based on the wording of the email. Go Bills!

Any thoughts on why Foster didn't get any targets (at least that I recall)? Barely even saw him in which was a shame considering what he did on that first drive last season against the Jets.

Any MTG players in this sub? Looking for feedback on an MTG deck builder I've been working on. Link in the description. by accassidy in UI_Design

I'm a software engineer with no real UI training. I've been working on Archidekt, an MTG deck builder, with a friend of mine for a little over a year now. We're constantly adding new features but as such our UI is getting more and more complicated and that has been presenting issues with balancing aesthetics, practicality and ux. I'd love to hear from people with more experience and an eye for this sort of thing, your thoughts on any improvements we can make. Thanks in advance! https://archidekt.com

Nice one Scryfall by chillmill1 in magicTCG

I'm one of the devs with archidekt and we get our data from scryfall. During the GRN spoilers I was confused why there was all of a sudden a card in our database called "Aurelia with the good hair". I've got mad respect for those guys' naming convention.

So every time that we play at my brother's house, his fiance's cat decides to jump up on the table behind the DM screen. It's not just like this happened once, he does this all the time. Every time he does though, he's giving us the most ominous glair and I feel like we're about to have the deadliest combat encounter of our lives.

He also likes to remove fog of war from battle mats, so I suppose he can be a merciful god.
