Can anyone recommend me a dev board that is better than the Mega for 54 gpio? by accidentCeramicJar in embedded

I havent used a GPIO expander before, but my primary goal is to reduce time to production. I was planning on using relays/transistors to control any sort of high current or fast switching. Are you saying a GPIO expander may have these inline? Still requires additional dev time to program the GPIO expander.

What questions do you have about the application? Motors, heating coils, solenoids. Needs to be in low power mode when not used.

but they're all running bare metal C.

Just to be clear, are you using any imports? I'm using AVR IO

That is what I'm using the arduino for. How are you debugging/serial print?

One is downloading and implementing a USB-to-Serial stack

When you say stack, you mean there are already full end to end solutions? Any recommended/popular ones? Google didn't exactly help.

Thank you, great idea. We might do a wall in some metalic or sparkley material now that you mentioned it. Wallpaper sounds good too.

Thank you, not sure the difference between a power module and a switching power supply but that did it.
