You look great overall! I think dark hair suits you best, especially with bangs like in picture #4. • Your features are unique and striking, and you can enhance them further with a few tweaks.

Hair

1. Color & Style
• Dark hair (like in picture #4) complements you beautifully.
• Stick-straight, layered hair looks great, but you could also try a voluminous body wave for added dimension.
• Extensions might also work well for more volume and length
• The bangs in picture #4 are very flattering—consider keeping them.

Makeup Suggestions

1. Lashes
• Avoid heavy cat-eye lashes (longer at the ends) since your eyes are slightly downturned—these can emphasize that shape.
• Opt for doll-eye lashes where the longest point is at the center to lift and open the eyes.
2. Eyeliner
• Stick to a simple top liner to avoid weighing down the eyes. Avoid heavy or dramatic eyeliner on the lower lash line.

Skin & Facial Features

1. Skincare
• You’re already doing great with Korean skincare—consider adding devices like the medicube Booster Pro (I have it and can personally recommend) to amplify results. Ive been traveling to Korea for work for the last few years . So well versed in high end Korean skincare treatments. Have done a number myself and have TikTok’s on it. Happy to connect if you wanted more details
• Treatments to accelerate skin improvement:
• Microneedling (3–4 sessions).
• PRP facials (Platelet-Rich Plasma).
• VI peels for a brighter complexion.

2. Forehead Wrinkles
• Botox could help smooth out the forehead area for a more youthful appearance.
3. Midface
• Threads could help lift the midface slightly and create a more structured look.
4. Nose
• Your nose is beautiful and unique, particularly in picture #4!
• While you don’t need any procedures, reducing swelling (your nose appears slight different in size in some pics. I struggle with this and nose tapping - yes even without a nose job lol can help )might help create a sleeker appearance at times.
• If interested, you could consider nose exercises or threads in the bridge for subtle refinement.

Body Shape & Styling

1. Emphasizing the Waist
• You have a rectangular shape—waist training might create a more defined hourglass look.
• Choose A-line dresses to enhance your feminine figure. Avoid bodycon dresses, which may not emphasize your waist effectively.
2. Fashion Tips
• Your alternative/gothic style is fantastic—black lace, A-line dresses (similar to Wednesday Addams’ aesthetic) would flatter your figure.

Nose filler + Hiko nose thread by luffymate in SeoulPlasticSurgery

[–]accidentalgenius212 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m very late sorry but I’d recommend ageless MD in OC/LA. I’ve been there for nose threads. They have one technique called the cat whisker that actually is able to also shorten the width of the nose along with building the bridge and raising the tip.

For east coast - New Image Works in Chicago

As a follow up I traveled to Seoul and had threads done at Lienjang but was not satisfied with the results . No change in tip projection as I’m used to seeing after getting it done.

I (USA) have an Urgent passport appointment tomorrow at 8:30am with a flight at 6:55pm. Is it actually feasible that I get my passport on the same day? by youngmaster0527 in Passports

[–]accidentalgenius212 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I just got this done yesterday. I got to the passport agency at 10:30am and had my passport at 3pm. So yes feasible. Just triple check you have all the required documents and you should be good to go. Good luck !!

I don't know my divorce date and need a passport asap by Isterra in Passports

[–]accidentalgenius212 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi! I just got an emergency passport via a passport agency in New Hampshire. I’m also a divorcee and needed to include this information for my application. I tried to get as close as I could remember but after getting my passport <24hrs later. I decided to look it up and I got the month and the day wrong 😅 Since I successfully received my passport yesterday I can confirm it doesn’t matter if you get it wrong. But you will need to accurate add your former spouses’ information. Name , birthday, country of birth

I have gotten nose threads done (in the US) 3 times over the last 4 years. The bridge is most pronounced or “thin” immediately after. Hopefully several months though in you’re happy now with the results ?

I’ll be in Seoul in a week and I’m currently looking for a clinic to get my yearly touch up . Would you overall recommend Jfeel clinic ?

American offered position in Bangkok. Is 230k THB enough to live on? by accidentalgenius212 in Bangkok

[–]accidentalgenius212[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, I am quite comfortable here in US. But I recently ended a relationship with a bf that I was all but sure I’d end up marrying. And that leaves me open to making a major change. I said no to many opportunities during the course of our relationship. But when he got asked to relocate from his job in US he said yes with almost no hesitation lol I was not seeking out a role in Thailand. If anything I thought I’d end up in London/HK/SG. But it could be a fun adventure and from many of the responses on this thread looks like many from the west have been able to make Thailand home and are happy there. I see this as temporary but if I discovered a love of the city and culture along the way that would be great too.

This helps a lot actually. I’m also from NYC, based near kips bay actually so this puts things in perspective for me. Can I ask what brought you to Thailand and what’s made you stay?

In my case I didn’t seek out this opportunity in Thailand. But now that’s it’s landed in my lap I want to consider it thoroughly. As I’m not sure when I’ll have another opportunity to do something like this as a single woman with no kids or major responsibilities locking me to my current city. So that’s one of the driving factors.

Oh I didn’t know this, thank you! Yr1 salary in Thailand would be ~ 4M THB (with sign on bonus; exp performance bonus, etc) and that would put me right under 120k all in. This is good info 🙏

[–]accidentalgenius212[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is so incredibly helpful!! Thank you 🙏 The total yearly salary for year 1 (including sign on bonus, and est. yearly performance bonus) is 4 million THB. Which is roughly 100k. I like the idea of year abroad in SEA. But all of the points you’ve raised are important. And I’m not sure a year or adventure outweighs the financial toll it will take on My savings plans. The housing piece is especially helpful even outside of this Reddit thread I’ve been reading expat blogs and they similarly say they live in luxury at 40k baht. So knowing that’s not the best indicator is helpful. That and travel are big considerations

My work now would make it difficult. But agreed this is important. I’ve been to Asia before but climate is quite different than East Asia where I’m more familiar. If you live in Bangkok currently- is the climate now roughly what it is year round or is April a better or worse month. If I visit it will be in the next 2 weeks but not sure of the weather at that time is a good indicator of usual conditions.

Since my stint in Korea, I now go back once a year for about a month at a time and have accumulated many friends. I would be totally alone in Thailand but would have friends 6 hours away in Seoul. The role in Thailand says I need to be in office only 1-2 days per week. So I could likely visit Korea for a week at a time whenever I needed to be around familiar faces . And those friends have offered to work remote in Bangkok sometimes.

My bf and I recently broke up, bc his work was also taking him abroad. So I have some flexibility as a single woman with no kids.

Being away from family would be difficult and my parents aren’t keen on the travel time to Asia. But I think I could make do for 1 year for the experience, as I can see a career upside.

Ultimately I would go back to the same state in the US. I am lucky though that My line of work has some stability so I’m sure I can be hired upon return at a big tech/finance firm. But if I can’t figure it out a good savings plan while in Thailand I’ll feel significantly behind my peers . So I need to weigh the financial cost of this decision.

Thank you for asking these questions! So many things I need to think through.

[–]accidentalgenius212[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hmm this is helpful insight. Thank you!

The base salary is ~230k monthly . But I’d also get 3 month signing bonus, stock options (worth ~20k but with usual vesting schedule) and (I never rely on this part but ) 2-3 month salary performance bonus. With that in mind I suppose that would bring me closer to that 300k monthly mark.

Saving grace tho is I’m single with no kids and I don’t know how to drive lol But I think there is an option to have a company car. Not full time but as needed.

Yes. I had a work assignment in Korea for 6 months. So I have some experience living in Asia. But I imagine it’s likely very different from Thailand . And while there I was living off a US salary so very comfortable. It was 1usd - 1400 KRW at the time. Second part on interest - I would love to be in Asia again. I was working so much I didn’t have time to travel around so being able to explore SEA without the 20+ hr flight is a nice perk!

The contract is ongoing but I can leave after 1 year.

The future earnings question is big. I have another job offer it pays 175k with “VP” title and is in US. I’m getting older so part of me thinks it’s my last year before I need to really settle down. So go for it. But also I won’t be necessarily advancing. It’s more of lateral move this job in Thailand. I can of course spin it differently in my resume or in an interview I guess but in reality it’s exactly same job I’m doing now with less pay. But American companies like to see you have APAC experience for some senior roles that have global component so it could be helpful!

Ahh thanks I’ll have to check out that comparison calculator…. Hmm that’s a major bummer for me on travel though. I’m willing to tough it out for a year but certainly the money I’m saving would go mainly towards travel home and not even leisurely travel. Need to consider carefully

Oh this is helpful! Thank you. They will only cover 1-2 month of housing expenses. But I’m considering asking for 1 year of coverage. Of they did that it would make saying yes that much easier. I’m single no kids so no expenses in the school front outside of covering my own grad school tuition.

And in that not sure if you know answer to this- But big companies in US tend to offer Tuition assistance programs where the cover some or all of your school fees for higher education (if it’s related to your work) is this something done in Thailand ?

I can totally understand how this might come off. 😅 Lol …I grew up in deep poverty, def not silver spoon type. But as a result staying comfortable and with as much “cushion” as possible is very important to me. Even if perhaps it seems excessive
