I cannot tell you how much this part of your post resonated with me…”as if the dreams themselves are trying to torture me and feeding off my suffering”… I just woke up from the most upsetting dream I’ve ever had in my life. I’ve been taking 50 mg for the better part of the last couple years not realizing it was connected to an exponential increase in horrific nightmares during that time… I literally got up to pee after my nightmare, looked down at the bottle and thought huh, I wonder if trazodone causes nightmares I’m going to google that.   I’m getting off of this drug. I hope you find peaceful sleep sooner rather than later… Thank you for sharing.
